Number Plates

I created a weird and wonderful mount that bolted through the rear light and hung down, but it's A*se!!!!

Rubs on the wheel eventually and wore through today. Mind you it's lasted about 8 months.

Everybody uses sticky yellow plates on back mudguard.

They're not strictly legal (well they're not even loosely legal) but neither was mine and theirs are much neater.

I was making a best effort as I was on 9 points for a while, but sod it, I'm back down to 6 and going for the sticky yellow plate.

Right heres the cost effective way

Create a text box in microsoft word

type in reg no and colour the box yellow then print out (you could use yellow paper if youre posh).

cut out and stick to mudguard with whatever you can see in your garage!

finally water proof with something Ive used yacht varnish before!!

Or you could laminate it at work (that is if you can).

You would be surprised how long the varnished version lasts up to 3 months if you wash carfully!!!

(thread highjack!!)

boofont!

what towhitch have you got on your vectra?

i got a sri140 saloon, and need a hitch for it, only really want a detachable one, but how does yours look? is it a big ugly looking thing? is it a goose neck one? if so, how does your bike rack fit on it?

(highjack over - no need for a trip to guantanamo bay mr.bush!!)

I had a vectra with a Witter bar on it. Not too ugly at all, it was the wife's car, so it had to be fairly unobtrusive or I wouldn't get away with it :D

I don't think you can fit a bike rack to a goose neck, but I may be wrong.

My tow bar is a standard traditional one, not a goose neck type. The rack has a box section that bolts between the tow hitch and the main towbar brackets. To us the rack you just slide in each end of the rack and then bolt through the rack and box section.
