Hi Useless, I'm in Wigan myself and have NEVER found a legal piece of land within the Wigan borough. Been writing to land owners for about 3 years now and just never get replys. I ride in the lakes mostly now as I have a caravan up there. I'd LOVE to find a local place for those couple of spare hours every now and then. Dave.

I ride a 2001 TXT 249. I've had my rear caliper pistons seize twice now in 18 months. I've still not managed to sort it out and get a half decent pedal. Just drop it into Birketts and leave em to it! Is there an easy way of lubricating the pistons in the caliper without getting anything on the disk? May save it happening in the future. Cheers.

I asked the following question to the MOT site......... > I have a 2001 GasGas TXT Trials bike. It is for daylight use > only but can you tell me if it needs a speedo for the MOT? > It is only used on a couple of short sections of public road. And the reply.......... > speedo is not part of the test. So there you have it. Don't need to bother with a speedo for my MOT even though I've bought one.

Hmmm, no mention of a speedo anywhere! I might get away without one

I was going to go to Preston DVLA office but Jude at GasGas told me to use Sheffield as they always use that office and rarely get a problem. Time will tell eh!

I've stripped the wiring out of my 2001 TXT today, but I have a slight problem in that I now only have one wire to the thermostat that I presume switches the fan on! The blue wire is still there but the yellow wire ran into the loom to the handlebars! Where should I connect the other terminal of the thermostat? Should I just find a live feed? The machine starts and runs fine but it's just this one problem..... Any help greatly appreciated.

I'm in the process of registering the Gasser. How do you guys that ride road trials mount a number plate??? Any piccies??? Cheers in advance......

I'm gonna end up going the whole hog here! I'm booking a CBT course & a theory test soon and then taking a Direct access course. Then all I have to do is get the bike licenced, taxed, insured & MOT'd. This is starting to get expensive!!

What is the power output of a 2001 Gasser TXT249? It may determine which bike test I need to take, 125 or direct access. Cheers in advance.
