I bought a Rev3 270 recently and the p.o. had some red colored oil in it, said it was Honda oil or something. So what works well in these bikes? My KTM runs Rotella 15/40 in the tranny. My old 2smoke ran Maxima gear oil but it would cause the clutch to squeal if I abused it. So what is the oil of choice in my Beta?

Its probaly got ATF in it & as allways worked well in the betas i have had! If you find you dont like the clutch there is a mod at the top of this forum!

I use a Putoline light gear oil in my rev3 200 with no probs. However I do have a 5ltr tub of ATF left over from my landrover owning days which will be going through it once the LGO has all gone.

Trick is change regularly. I only ever ride for about 2-3 hours at a time and change it every three or 4 rides. A bit keen I know but oil is cheaper than anything else.

Honda HP Trans oil 80W85 is red. I use it in my 4RT gearbox, and it works fine.
