Tlm 260

Featured Replies

Hi

Bought a tlm 260 a while ago and I'm in the process of fixing it up and need some bits, mainly a piston 1st oversize and air filter.

Parts for these bikes seem very thin on the ground so not sure where to start looking.

Bike is a runner, got new rings and small end but it needs a piston and re-bore.

Good look with your search, parts are like the steam off rocking horse poo.

Air filters should be easy to get round and from memory the RTL 250 which Dave Renham of Inmotion had new ones made fit.

if you source pistons let me know as I have 3 engines on standard bore!!!

Did you have any luck finding an oversized piston and ring set. I'm look for one for a TLM200

TLM200 is a totally different engine, it was derived from the watercooled MTX200 range, I do not know for certain but this must be a good bet that the pistons are the same.

I think I might be able to find a suitable piston for the 260, still checking though

Had the same problem with a Pentax TLM260. I went to P.J. Motorcycle Engineering (you can find them on the net) who found a piston that fitted and bored, etc. to the correct size. From memory it was from something like a TZ Yamaha, but don't rely on my memory.
