June 6, 201214 yr hi all , just snapped the bolt what holds the chain tensioner on swing arm on beta evo ,,,,,,any ideas how to get the bolt out its snapped a couple of threads inside and i reckon it will be hard to get a drill at it ........thanks........
June 6, 201214 yr Sounds like you may need to remove the arm unless anyone else has a method. Use a sharp drill bit to then place a small hole in the remains of the bolt and use an extractor. This will all be easier done in a vice. Good luck.
June 7, 201214 yr you will be best off removing swingarm and taking to a motor engineer that is used to this type of work as you can easily make a mess of this ,easy outs can work but at the same time they can widen the item been extracted tightening it , unless yo know someone that can mig a washer to it then a nut to washer but depends how deep it is ,just make sure the person doing it is competant
June 7, 201214 yr This happened to me on a rev4t I managed to unscrew it with I flat screwdriver, I may have been very very lucky.
June 7, 201214 yr Obviously take the arm out to make it easy to get at the area - probably time to grease pivots etc anyway?. Easyouts can snap leaving you an even bigger problem. Try drilling a hole down the middle then hammer in a Torx bit and use that to turn the bolt. At least if it doesn't work you can remove it and drill a bigger hole or whatever method you then choose.
June 7, 201214 yr Author I am going to take it to pj motor cycle engineering tommorrow let the master sort it ,I no if I try an easy out I will snap it
