Helmet Refurb

I would tend to agree with both comments, but the helmet exterior is in perfect condition. For some reason the previous owner had taken the padding out of the interior leaving some fabric, but rendering it unuseable.

It would be perfectly alright to use if and when I can make it more comfortable to wear.

If the helmet is less than 4 years old then maybe, but if it's old then you cannot see the parts of the helmet that have deteriorated

Perhaps the removable lining has just been lost and you can buy a replacement

What kind of helmet is it?

Hi

I have a newish shoei helmet as well as several others, its not a case of being tight I can assure you . The helmet in question is a very nice example of a period FANTIC mpa type. It would be nice to get it back to a useable state, whether I use it in competition or not . I take on board everything said above , however I just wanted to see if anybody knew of a place that would refurb the interior I dont really want a lesson in elf and safety ......

couldn't see anything in the UK. Is it legal to refurbish a helmet...? or is there some BS which requires the lid to have its original liner, unless replaceable... I know they - whoever they are... don't like you painting your helmet, or sticking bunny rabbit ears on.

Googling 'motorcycle helmet refurbishing' threw up a few questions in forums, mainly in the US, with language you wouldn't use in front of your Mother...

Good luck.

PS BS means British Standard, not the other sort of BS...
