old trials fanatic Report post Posted November 16, 2012 £50 still sounds prohibatively expensive, we struggle to get people down here to pay £10 and i thought Scots were supposed to be tight LOL, to me but i'm glad an agreeable compromise has been sorted out. A triumph for democracy.
overthehill Report post Posted November 18, 2012 5 pages of posts! Just shows you the reaction you get when you try to get a couple of quid off a trials rider So we think 'no change' is a result? No wonder trials in scotland is in the state it is.
b40rt Report post Posted November 18, 2012 So we think 'no change' is a result? No wonder trials in scotland is in the state it is. Mark, how would a £150 a year (or more) license improve trials ?
overthehill Report post Posted November 18, 2012 Mark, how would a £150 a year (or more) license improve trials ? If the money was put back into develpment and promotion it would. I'm not saying that the SACU of old would be able to deliver that, but if they change into a body that truly fosters and encourages motorcycle sport they could. But if they dont get the chance we will never know.
b40rt Report post Posted November 18, 2012 "But if they dont get the chance we will never know." What will change ? The Alberfeldy & Loch Lomond of old will not re-appear. Trials in Scotland have not changed much in the last 30 years, faces have dis-appeared, then re-surfaced. (except Big Phil) What is the dream I should buy into ?

big john Report post Posted November 20, 2012 Overthehill has made some very valid points there. Many other sports are now investing for the future. There is a bigger picture with Scottish Trial sport, it's just a pity some people don't really see it. Big John

b40rt Report post Posted November 21, 2012 If the money was put back into development and promotion it would. The "comp levy" could be optional, those with "vision" could contribute.
