Torben,

Good luck with the rebuild ! I did one for someone back in 2009 and you might find some of the info, including pitfalls, useful. Go to the "blog" and hit 2009, then Nov, this will give you all the articles starting at "Ugly Betty", then Dec 2009 for "The Reveal" ... "Testing the Pacyderm" and then in 2010 find August for the actual testing and you will see some pictures of the kickstart case saver that stops punching the hole in the case. You will also see the "never undo gotcha bolt!!!" About 2 hours worth of reading but you might find it helpful.

My 350 Jumbo had no clutch casing when i got it and the one I got hold of had a big hole in the casing this has been welded but it took a while to find a specialist to weld the magnesium casing. I also have 4 320´s that have smaller holes in the clutch casings these we have glued with no problems so just depends on the size of your hole.

The power development of the Jumbo will be interesting as I got the bike with a lot of bits missing. I´m now just waiting for a few last bits and the tires I´ve orderd.

@ b40rt (Ross ?)

Yes it was magnesium pure magnesium as I´m told (this seems to be important when welding as a mix with alloy is easier I´m told). He did a great job of it and it looks as if theres never been a hole in it. I had to send it with the post as he´s about 500 km away. and it costed about 40,- GBP (50,- Euro) + postage.

@ Tony: I will check that out in your blog. It's always good to learn about something you are going to live with for the next couple years It'll be good to see you out there this year again. What are you riding this year? @ B40: yes it's magnesium for the inner cases and the outer covers. Thankfully a good friend who has a ton of Can Am stuff had a couple of them, free of holes! It does say Bombardier on it but that will be covered with a guard anyways! @ Mudyman: yeah I still might repair the one I have also but finding someone who welds magnesium around here is proving difficult at best.
