Slit In Sidewall?

Featured Replies

only had my bike a couple weeks, ive noticed the tyre goes flat after a few days, today i took the wheel off and put it in water to find out where its leaking. its leakin from a slit in the side wall, its about 20mm long but only leaving very slowly...

is this repairable or is it game over for the tyre?

its a michelin xlite and dosent look very old at all so its a shame to have to bin it....

Get more wear out of it.

Carry on and see if the leak gets worse, if so then maybe try using a tyre repair strip to plug it up.

You can stick a tube in. I have run tubes in tubeless tyres a lot. Worth the extra cash for a heavy duty tube.

Check around for a "Boot" repair patch that they use for ATV tires

You don't want thick and heavy, you want soft and supple and have it vulcanized to the tire
