March 3, 201313 yr only had my bike a couple weeks, ive noticed the tyre goes flat after a few days, today i took the wheel off and put it in water to find out where its leaking. its leakin from a slit in the side wall, its about 20mm long but only leaving very slowly... is this repairable or is it game over for the tyre? its a michelin xlite and dosent look very old at all so its a shame to have to bin it....
March 3, 201313 yr Get more wear out of it. Carry on and see if the leak gets worse, if so then maybe try using a tyre repair strip to plug it up.
March 3, 201313 yr You can stick a tube in. I have run tubes in tubeless tyres a lot. Worth the extra cash for a heavy duty tube.
March 6, 201313 yr Check around for a "Boot" repair patch that they use for ATV tires You don't want thick and heavy, you want soft and supple and have it vulcanized to the tire
March 6, 201313 yr Tubes in a tubeless tyre without a tyre clamp don't last very long is my experiance. Here's how I fixed my rear tyre. It's still air tight. http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/topic/43968-cuts-in-rear-michelin-x-light-tyre-sealed-with-stans-notubes-tire-sealant/
