At 16 you should do this no problem, have some faith in yourself! If after doing a wheelie with the clutch pulled in, and using the brakes don`t work you could pull it apart. You only need a 4 mm allen wrench and a 8mm socket/and or wrench to remove the clutch springs. Just lay the back on the left side on the ground against the handle bar. Make sure the gas is off and you are not leaking fluid. With the bike in this position you can check the clutch plates without draining the oil. Here`s a video to help. At 16 you are plenty old enough to work on your bike!!

Alien Wrench? Sockets? Good God Lineaway, what do you expect of kids nowadays? Them springs could put an eye out or something! He could break a nail and would not be able to operate a phone for weeks! WEEKS I said!
