At our club we have in the past used paper round bags to carry the pegs when marking out (we use 1 per section and then leave the bag at the section making it easy to pick up the pegs after the trial). Recently we tried some cheap haversack type bags but they have not lasted long getting soaked setting out and overnight at the section is not what there designed for I guess and they need replacing.

What do other clubs use is there a good alternative to the paper round bag ?

If you could get some, Royal Mail delivery pouches would be fantastic. When I used to work for them they would regularly throw out old ones that would still be very serviceable for trials peg bags. Contact your local delivery office and explain exactly what you would use them for, likely for security purposes you would have to remove any Royal Mail identifiers but they would do te job

Hi paper round bags is the way to go ! we also use this method , but ours are plastic coated and have been going strong for a few years .

Leave them with the observer and they pull the pegs out at the end

Good for setting out as well we use the surveyor type flags and they fit in well

Mug the local paper boys

we use paper boy bags, plastic coated work well.

Richmond mc use specifically made ones cos the do a lot of flag marking between sections more like old fashioned oversized duffle bags.

we got paper boy bags, old army nap sack (because we cards rather than pegs) and a few royal mail bags. royal mail one are undoubtedly the best by a long way but how you (or we) acquire them i don't know

Hi Nigel where do you get yours made , as we have used the paper ones in the past and they do last well the only problem we had with them is they can be a bit big and clumsy and can swing about a bit when your riding.

just went into local papershop and the guy got them for us guess through his wholesaler

I think ours were on a deal from Asda - one of their bags for life deals.They work well,nice and light and mostly the observers are happy to pick up all the markers and start/ends cards.Been using the same ones for about 4 years now...

Thanks for all your replies we where really after something a bit more like a duffel bag, a bit smaller than the paper bag. The ones we use now are just right but they have only lasted about 2 years and are now rotting so we could do with similar type but made from the paper back material. I will keep searching.

Ours are plasticky so don't rot, and the straps are long enough to wear as a rucksack, if this doesn't work then you will have to go custom made. Expensive?
