I would say it is very similar. I was a bit worried about what oil to use and could find the Elf anywhere. So I was quite relieved to know that using the Amsoil supershift has not changed anything in the way the clutch works at all

Just looking at the tech info for this and it is in fact a ATF oil but made for completion use -  makes sense why it works well and also probably has good additives for wear reduction.

As ELF HTX740 became unavailable in the USA, I was very interested in trying the GRO Gear Extrem 75 because of the close viscosity match to the ELF oil. But there's no current USA importer of GRO oil.

  • Interesting PDF. ELF says its for DRY CLUTCHES MMMMM Elf.pdf

  • Specific performance motorcycle engine oil is good for the clutch as it is designed to run in wet clutches, unlike the atf fluids, I use 5w30 motul 300v factory line, not cheap but works very well.

In the US it is tough and expensive to get the ELF oils.

I use BelRay Gearsaver 80 weight with the Honda dimpled clutch plates. Works excellent, super smooth clutch with this setup.
