Stopped-Won't Start!

Featured Replies

Hi, hoping for some help with my 2014 300 Evo. Riding home after a good practice session, 6th gear just tootling along and then the engine just stopped, nothing dramatic no big bangs just stopped! Luckily I was going downhill to my house but when I tried to kick it again just having none of it. Changed the spark plug hoping it was that but didn't work. Any ideas?

Ran out of time to check but I'm going to to have a look tomorrow morning. Guess I should have checked before posting but just wanted to see what everyone thought!

If you were going down hill for an extended period of time, at an idle or just barely more you may have nipped the piston. (stuck the rings) Due to a high revving motor without enough  lubrication.  Every year we have at least one rider do this as we ride on steep ski slopes.

PS the solution is you have to gas the bike going down hill.

Ok, I've checked and there's no spark. The piston feels fine as it's turning and you can feel the compression. Thinking something on the wiring loom now (obviously)! Start with the kill switch?
