The bike has been sitting for 8 yrs. The bike is like New and the carb was clean as can be. I have no problem kicking it over without the plug in. As soon as I put the plug in, It locks the kick starter in the top position. After 5-6 tries to kick over , it will kick over with lots of compression. After one kick thru , it locks up again for 5-6 kicks. The kick starter feels like it is totally locked it the top position when it takes 5-6 tries. I’m afraid that I will break the kick starter shaft.

I also don't have a spark?

Do you have any ideas on this?

Maybe the crankcase is full of fuel or oil and some of it is transferring up into the combustion chamber, causing a hydraulic lock.

Maybe the exhaust pipe is blocked.

Will this have anything to do with no spark as well? I'm new to this dirt bike / trial bike world. I'm a welder by trade and a youtube mechanic that is fighting to find info on this bike.

A fresh new plug would be the first thing to try if you've no spark, plus checking the plug cap is properly fixed to the HT lead. Probably worth unscrewing it, cleaning up the lead and re-attaching the cap.

id solve one thing at a time. whip off barrel and have a look putting a plug in wont stop an engine tuening unless something else is going on.
