  • 4 weeks later...

Has anyone got any more pictures of man made trials practice sections they can post?

I have found a willing farmer who wants to build a trials practice area on his farm and we need inspiration.

He can get tyres, logs, railway sleepers and rocks.

Any photos would be most welcome and save us a great deal of time working out how to lay out the obstacles. Cheers

have a look at most of our sections - we've man made most of them as there is very little natuaral stuff at Canada Heights! just check out the numerous photos on our website

here are a few examples :-

shows a sand section carved out by a machine (360 or JCB)

shows a trench dug by a JCB with some concrete sleeper type things in them (we perodically rearrange the conrete)

wall style jump made of fence posts and earth

tree trunk

post-78-1143057787.jpg

lots of concrete (to make a "rock" section), the huge barrel thing was a long ago enginering atempt to flatten a field (to make a car park) - several thousand cars (big mx meetigns) and regular grass cutting did it in the end

here is a bank we built for mx spectaros, we put lumps of concrete and tree trunks into it for trials

here a big ampipherete has been cut into the sand bank and logs have been held in aroudn to create steps

hope all this gives you some idea, the ones i've shown show section for modern solos, i would have shown diffrent ones if you were after older bikes or sidecars

Thanks for those Rabie, it's suprising how hard it is to set out artificial practice sections when you try to do it.

The farmer is dead keen, he has a nice bit of unused rough ground which isn't doing anything and welcomes the chance to make it work for him.

When it's set up I'll post some pictures of what we have done.

Ah your playground makes me do a little sex wee Rabie!!

:) - OK I'm afriad now

we as a club never used to run many trials from Canada Heights as it wasn't great trials land, but with the demise of road trials plus our acquisition of the land has meant we've done quiet a bit of work.

personally I'm not a good enough trails rider to enjoy the benefits of some of these sections (most of the stuff I've shown you is for inters and experts)
