Hello All,

Just getting started in trials and I'm looking at the best way to transport bikes in the back of a van. The proworks quickload system looks like it would be ideal but I'm not sure if trials bikes would be too narrow for the footpegs to fit into the footpeg clamps, the system looks like it's designed mainly for MX/enduro bikes. Could anyone give me an idea of the width of trials bikes from footpeg tip to footpeg tip, or let me know if the quickload system is already in use by anyone on the forum? The bikes I'm looking at are a Beta 80 junior for the lad and a 250/300 (not sure what manufacturer yet) for myself. Below are the dimensions of the 3 proworks quickload systems:

Above are how the dimensions are listed on the website, the 'length' (I think it should be described as width) is the critical dimension. I'm assuming the footpeg height dimension is the measurement from the floor to the top of the lower clamp and that this measurement is the minimum height that the foot pegs on the bike can measure in at, although I'm not sure (I did ask this question on the website but they couldn't answer it)..

My guess is GasGas are a whisker narrower again, but I recently sold my GG.

Thanks very much for this. Looks like the quickload system might be worth a try. I'll be sure to repost if/when purchased and tested.

I just use some J hooks anchored to the floor. Lean bike to center of van, hook one side, lean back the other way and hook the other side. Strap on front break lever. Different length j hooks for vintage and modern. 

I bought a Pro-works quick load and its rubbish for my bikes (4RT and Beta ALP) - just doesn't lock them down securely as I think the pegs are too low compared to MX/enduro bikes.

I really like your set up @htrdoug - any chance of a bit more detail?  Whats the rail on the floor and where did the solid rod come from?  A quick Amazon search on J hooks doesnt bring up anything rod-like.

As @Reffus says wouldn't mind a bit more detail on your setup @htrdoug. Looks like a good solution. Any links to where you got the components from would be much appreciated. I'll hold off on the quickload for now and see if I can get any more info, sounds like they might not be the greatest thing for trials bikes.

I did this about 8 years ago so may not be totally accurate, you may need different lengths and sizes but my system works for trials bikes, very quick to load.

As a added bonus Moto- Cinch also works on the L-track, but Moto-Cinch I have won’t quite hold a trials bike down securely enough and the securing pin won’t fit through all Footpegs. I do see Moto Cinch does have a shorter model now.

And I don’t run the hooks through the pegs anymore, just catch them over the top.

The Quickload looks to me like a solution searching for a problem. I use a couple of ratchet straps and the bike can be loaded in about 1 minute.

Yeah I think I was drawn in by the quick loading selling point when in reality it only saves a minute or so. I think straps or something similar to what @htrdoug explained above would be more than adequate. Thanks all for your input.

Out of interest, I timed my loading up this morning. 5 minutes from opening the garage door to closing it again. That included loading tools and clothing, putting a cover over the passenger seat, fetching and laying out the straps, loading the bike and strapping it into place.

Has anybody tried the Proworks quickload? Thinking about getting one for my Gasgas. Any help would be appreciated
