Our sport level rider Alex Belmont took second place in his class, his best result ever. In the expert class a potential rider for TMM, Pat Smage (Youth National Mototrial champ,) claimed a strong third, and Peter Hellenbrand ran away with the win in the Expert class. I am on the verge of buying a new bike but could do with some advice to help me decide. Am looking for something that would be fairly handy at bike trials (only practise mind you) but would also be able to go out with the g/f at weekends for a cycle along the old railway lines nearby. Is there such a dual purpose type of bike??? Any help would be good. Cheers

OK so it ain't bike trials, but kind of links, trials riders on push bikes. Just been reading January's MBUK and you get to find out what Jonny Starmer and Jason Bayliss have been up to - DH (under the wind of my neighbour Mr Warner) . And doing pretty well it seems. Woody Hole has done pretty wel in the past and I here that Steve Peat's not bad on a trials bike. Looks like trials skills cross over well to DH. Always fancied a blast myself, done a few XC and CycloX races and done ok, just wondered what the DH race set up is like. Anyone had a go ?

It just seems like bike trials is a great way to train and yet save from destroying your moto. Another thing is trying scary drops and gaps ect... it seems to help with building confidence, courage! What is your input on bike trials?

I have been thinking about bike trials for some time now and was wondering what you guys thought about converting a 24" BMXer. I would think a crank and bars would be a start, but I just wanted to know what yer thoughts were. Thanks....
