I dont keep the fact that I am a Beta fan any kind of a secret. I also dont make a habit of running other brands down. Basically I could care less what anybody thinks of what bike I ride or what they ride. With that being said I have noticed something interesting in my area of the world with my fellow riders. People have been asking me what I will switch to when the 4 strokes take over. They immediatly go on to explain that Betas 4 will be crap and I will not be happy with one. I have to admitt that I have not heard many details on the Beta 4 and they dont have the resources of Honda and Yamaha. However, Beta is a quality company that is rather diverse. For someone to …

thinking about the scottish and who will get in etc. i started thinking about the first time i spectated and i saw bernie schrieber riding an swm. I thought i would remind myself what the swm looked like i can remember a nice yellow tank and black engine. So i type swm into the search engine and what do i get? pages of single white men all looking for similar. Just then the lady of the house comes in and i start to panick. i can't clear the screen fast enough. Now she thinks i'm gay and looking for rent boys! she reckons i'm doubly guilty cos of my frantic efforts to clear the screen before she could see it. Any suggestions on how to get back in the good books would be…

I was going to put this under the “if you were the engineer” heading, but my last response there was getting a bit lengthy already and I want to get myself into the rank of “advanced member” as quickly as possible so I can enjoy all the rights, honor, and privileges duly awarded members of that rank. Therefore I decided to start a new thread. There’s been a little banter about a programmable ignition. This is a cool thing, but is probably something only practical for very highly skilled riders. I can see myself trying to re-map the advance curve only to thoroughly honk up the performance of my bike. I suppose the manufacturer could provide 3 or 4 selectable pre-progr…

Just looking at getting a bike rack. as I'm sick of the trailer for one bike. Dave Cooper seems the best advertised, although their web site is a bit poor as far as photos of the racks are concerned. Anyone got views on these. My concern is how good they can be for only

If you were designing a new bike, what would you change from the ones avalible today? I'd like to see a water proof fresh air vent near the headstock for example. A sliding shock mount (or different holes with a pin) to vary the stiffness of the shock. Better and easier filter maintenance. More grease fittings. Better adjustablity for handle bars and footpegs. The things I like on the ones I see are...... Sherco's see through tank. Betas linkless shock. Tell us what you would design and what features you like on different bikes.

Most popular bike at the Vic Brittian today seemed to the REV3, they were all over the place. Always a good indication on which bike to go for if you in the market for one I think mark

Sorry to stretch this one into 2 forums, but I didn't think many people would read it where it started, in "Beta: Merry Christmas". Is it really true that the AMA has insisted on long-sleeved shirts for trials competition? I have serious reservations about joining an organization that would spend my dues to pay lawyers to fight mandatory helmet laws(I never have joined). So, not only does the AMA fight mandatory helmet laws WHILE imposing mandatory helmet rules at their events, but now they are insisting on LONG SLEEVES?!?!? So, are they for safety or against it? Or are they for it when it's THEIR insurance; and for "freedom" when it's somebody else's insurance? …

I was watching some Motorcycle tours programme today on Men and Motors, then an advert came up about Trials. Had loads of footage from the Trials Rounds they had a clip of the waterfall, and a rider hitting it (like raga does) but he hit it front wheel first then flew over the bars and dropped off the side of it. Where was this round and who was the rider? It looked painful.

I was trolling Todo trial site and saw the pic of a quad in a section, but the link to the actual story didn't work. All I can say if true!! is we will soon be seeing riders getting killed, if some are going to try scaling rocky climbs and such on those things, please call it somthing other than trials.
