This was one of the great MotoGP races. Fought at high intensity for 30-laps the action never let up and it was Valentino Rossi (Yamaha) who eventually prevailed over Marco Melandri (Fortuna Honda RC211V) in second and series points

  2. Turkish Grand Prix at Istanbul Park Sunday April 22, 2007 ELIAS FIGHTS TO SECOND, DANI TAKEN OUT ON LAP ONE A dramatic MotoGP race unfolded in front of a 40,000 crowd here at Istanbul Park with Casey Stoner (Ducati) winning from Toni Elias (Gresini Honda RC212V) with Loris Capirossi (Ducati) third. But a first lap incident took Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda RC212V) out of the race. Elias started from 10th on the grid after a mediocre qualifying performance, but his race efforts were huge and he willed himself through the field to the podium although he could not catch the runaway Stoner. In sunny conditions with negligible wind, 23 degrees ambient temp…

As round two of what is shaping up to be a red-hot MotoGP World Championship hits Jerez in southern Spain this weekend, a 250,000 crowd is expected. This horde will largely be there to will on Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda RC212V), the main Spanish hope for the 2007 World Championship. Dani scored a third place in the opening race in Qatar and now that the series has returned to Europe, he will be looking for nothing less than a win at his

Didnt see any comment about Shanghai. But for the record: Top effort by Aussie Casey Stoner to win from Rossi for a hard fought victory. Ducati certainly had the legs on the straights.

HONDA RACING INFORMATION Italian Grand Prix at Mugello Saturday June 2, 2007 WET WEATHER PLAYS HAVOC WITH QUALIFYING IN ITALY The MotoGP grid was almost washed out here at a sopping wet Mugello, but in semi-wet and then tough, slippery conditions it was Casey Stoner (Ducati) who took his first pole position of the season, with Chris Vermeulen (Suzuki) qualifying second fastest and Valentino Rossi (Yamaha) completing the front row. As the hour long MotoGP qualifying session got underway the track was still damp after a thorough downpour earlier and riders emerged on wet tyres to cope with the soaking track. The early pacesetters were Stoner, Vermeule…

DANI WINS, NICKY SECOND IN SHANGHAI SHOWDOWN This MotoGP contest will be remembered as the race where the amazing Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda RC211V) established himself as a new force in the top class with a debut premier category win at his fourth attempt. His team-mate Nicky Hayden (Repsol Honda RC211V) was second and Colin Edwards (Yamaha) was third. After unsettled weather for the two days of practice, race day was hot and dry with the track temperature at 26 degrees and ambient at 31 degrees. A modest crowd of 32,000 was in place as the lights signaled the start of this, the fourth race of the season. Dani made the holeshot from the grid into turn on…

The last race of this seasons MogoGP I think you'll agree was spectacular. Just when we thought Casey would run away with a 10 second lead on Dani, Dovi, and Ben, it started to rain, hard. That race for second looked like, and for 3rd in world championship, it would never end. With at least a half dozen exchanges between Dani and Dovi, while Ben was just waiting to pounce on any mistake, it really looked like it was all set in stone. Until the last five laps, in the pouring rain, would anyone believe that Ben would pass both Dovi and Dani to shrink that 10 second lead that Casey had? only to pass him? Ben would have really deserved that win, but for that little fifteen th…

The MotoGP class served up a typically hard-fought hour of qualifying with Spanish sensation Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda RC212V) powering to pole here in Jerez. Valentino Rossi (Yamaha) qualified second fastest with another Spanish star Carlos Checa (LCR Honda RC212V) completing the front row. With the 4.423km track notoriously sensitive to temperature changes, grip was not at the level provided during tests here earlier in the month when times were well up on last year

Looks like they are having a few problems getting up to speed before the season opener. Hoped they would bring out something near the mark this season but quite a few seconds off the pace so far.

Hondas Finish Pre-Season Testing on Top Honda riders ended the pre-season with the top two times and five of the top six, on a day of difficult conditions at the Losail International Circuit outside the Qatari capital of Doha. The newest team member Casey Stoner (Repsol Honda RC212V) finished the test slightly quicker than team-mate Dani Pedrosa just days before the start of the championship. The performance by Honda riders culminated an extraordinary and unprecedented pre-season in which Honda riders finished on top on all eight days of testing, six days in Sepang, Malaysia and here in Qatar for two days. More than just bragging rights, the performance is indicative t…

Valentino Rossi (Yamaha) won this Spanish Grand Prix from Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda RC212V) with Colin Edwards (Yamaha) third. In front of a passionate 138,000 crowd in perfect racing conditions, this race was never quite as close as the tight-fought qualifying session promised it might be. Dani hit turn one in the lead from pole with Rossi right on his rear tyre and Edwards just behind. With track temperature at 31 degrees and with a 19 degree ambient temperature the atmosphere was set for a close contest. Especially when Rossi slipped past Dani at the first hairpin to take the lead. Nicky Hayden (Repsol Honda RC212V) was up to fourth after start…
