  4. Had one of those stupid slow motion offs just before xmas coming up a steepish hill the bike flipped, as i tried to cling on to stop it careering back down the throttle stuck wide open, managed to kill the engine and all seemed fine although i detected a bit of play in the throttle so i replaced the throttle cable but the play is still there it moves around 5cm before it starts revving any ideas?
  5. need to clean out the exhaust system on my bike ive repacked the rear silencer but have yet to attempt the front end or mid section seems to be a bit of conflicting advise kicking about caustic soda/brake fluid/petrol,burn it out, dont burn it so what's the best option ??

    Rough Idle

Bike sounding a bit rough and spluttery when idling fine when i open the throttle any ideas of what could be causing it ?? also seems to be running a bit hotter than normal (or maybe it's just the hot weather makes it feel like that) all fluid levels fine using 80:1 mix and never been a problem before thanks in advance Ali
  11. Gas Gas 250 06 Marzzochi front Ohlins rear im in the process of replacing the dog bone bearings and giving a bit of general tlc thought id give the suspension a tune up havent fiddled about with it since buying it but it has felt a bit dead at times i dont want it to be pogo stick crazy just a bit more plush would be good so where to start i weigh 12 stone
  12. thats a brilliant boot review well put together i went through the same thing myself and also opted for the Novagar's find them very comfy with good support unfortunately a combination of leaning in to close and the short chain guard on my Gas Gas lead to me wearing a small hole in the left boot bought myself a longer chain guard from Trialscast that stopped the problem still have an inch long gash in my boot where the chain has rubbed it any ideas if this can be repaired?? tried patching it using leather bond, super glue etc but nothing sticks for long anyone have any solutions
  13. I have a bit of play in the rear wheel so new bearings ordered, the question is how difficult is the bearing removal? does it involve a lot of fist shaking and quality swearing or are there any tips for making it a painless process as you can gather i havent done this before so any help would be great thanks in advance
  14. Cheers John thats exactly what im after i'll give him a bell thanks again Ali
  15. well after reaching my mid forties i thought it was about time to put my feet up (excuse the pun) and have another go at trials after a 20 year absence so i bought myself a Gas Gas 250 two years ago (a mid life crisis 250 as my wife calls it ) with the intention doing a few local events, but like all the best laid plans the banana skin was just round the corner i became a father again so all the free time i thought i was going to fill with the trials bike just disappeared so here i am two years later my youngest is up and about ...kind off and iv'e now been given the green light to get back out again .....so im looking some easy local trials or practice areas just so i can get back into the swing of things any help or pointers would be great Cheers
