    Removing barel

I have to remove the barel and the barel head as a silly bolt on my rev3 has decided to leave the tread in the barell bit , so has anyone got any tips for when removing this?, im planning on removing it from where the radihator is i believe it will fit through there with the sides off of the frame (heard this on another thread). Also im planning on renewing the gaskits as im meant too whilst im there so how much gasket sealent should i use on the gaskets and what type will i need to use on these gaskets? Thanks Ben
  3. A light gear oil that claims to stop the clutch from dragging i had always used fuchs gear oil, if you go onto the links below it shows the ammount of the 1990 TR-35 hope this helps http://www.betatrialuk.com/content/view/94/51/ http://www.betatrialuk.com/content/view/93/51/
  4. There is an easy way to get to the spark plug on these tr's put your hand under the seat bit and pull up wards this will lift up two bits of plastic which hold the seat bit down, then you just move it forward and the tank and the seat come off in one peace easly within seconds.
  5. So i was riding my bike around a small field with long grass today just to test the new sprokets. I was in second gear and i went to change down to first when i hit the gear lever i thought gear change was way to light so i looked down only to find that the gear lever had fallen off some where, my imedite thorghts where S**t, but then i rememberd it was a trials bike so i was fine starting it in gear. :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: I searched the field with some mates for a good hour, as of the long grass i was unable to find it. This is probaly the most anoying and monst amusing thing that has happend to my bikes acording to my mate. Anyone had any simular experiences?
  6. Some rev3 have problems with the float in the carb getting stuck in one place which will make the carb flood. if you take of the float bowl and make sure its not full up with dirt, seized up or damaged. Hope this helps Also make sure you completly turn the fuel off when you leave it for said 10-15 minutes this might help (i do this reguarly as i find my rev3 has a habit of deciding to flood at bad times) Also Check your petcock (fuel swithch) like the guy above says as some times the seals go on them alowing them to always be on.
  7. My clutch cover Scratched on my rev3 and i wanted to know what is the best thing to do about it. Should i respray it my self? Get some one to spray it profesionaly? or just buy a plastic cover to cover it up? Thanks

Hi i have a 07 beta rev 3, and as im going away with it i wanted to buy it some spares,i want to get some spare levers but im all conffused about it ! I have only managed to find two levers to fit it but they are not forged. I was wondering if they have to be the Grimica or could you use the AJP one? which is widely avaliable compared to the Grimica one. Thanks

    Rear brake help!

I have a beta rev 3 2007 250 and recentley the rear break has stopped working, i have narrowed down the fault to being some were in the intake/inside the rear master cylinder/pump. can any one recomend what to do? or has anyone else had this problem? I imagine im going to have to fork out and buy a new master cylinder so is it possible to replace it with a universal brembo one instead of a beta one? or does the beta one being made for trials react diferently to the brembo one? http://bikeswoop.com/Brembo-Rear-Master-Brake-Cylinder.html Thank You Ben Wall
  17. I struggle to start my sisters ty80 from cold it takes about 15 min to start. Once started it will start from hot really easly (even my little sister can start it). after it has warmed up it starts to rev realy high (about 20 min after start) so i have to run for my screwdriver and adjust the carb. I have recentley changed the coil and cleaned out the carb but this does not help much more. Once the bike is running every thing is fine but i just cannot work out why it stuggles to start from cold it cant be because it is not started that often as the bike is reguarly used and if not used weekley it is normaly started just to warm it up. Does anyone know what the poblem may be? or has anyone experienced a simular problem? Thanks Ben Wall
  18. Just got the Dan Thorpe DVD, it is amazing, covers almost everything you need to know and its 2 hours long which is a good amount of time compared with many other DVDs that are about 1 hour long and appear a bit rushed in covering basic tecniques
  19. Hi I want to get some new foot pegs as the ones on my current bike i do not get on with at all (find that my feet slip of easly and alolt of mud gets caught up in them). On my old bike i used to have the S3/Hebo type ones that are now fitted i belive to the gas gas bikes as standard and i realy found them strong and grippy and most of all i got on with them well. I was wondering if anyone could recomend any footrests to me?(as i dont want to buy a pair and find out there not very good) I would perfer them to be grippy(as i often ride muddy in muddy or wet places) and strong, Thanks Ben Wall

  22. Hi Im about to restore my sisters ty80 and as i have never restored a bike before i am not quite sure about how to go about it. The bikes engine is in very good condition so there is no work needed to be done there. The frame is rusting in places and mising paint so i was wandering how i would go about geting the frame, tank and out side of the engine repainted? How do i prepare it for painting? And how much will it rougly cost to get it done? Any other tips and coments about what i should do would be much apreciated. Thanks
