  1. In the late 70's I used a TL125 for a daily 20 mile commute to work then strip it down and compete at the week end, but trails tyres were dunlop universals or mt43's which didn't wear too badly. I now try to keep one of the bikes road legal to do a little green laning, twinshocks are not too bad on the road ( my Fantic will cruise at 45mph ) as long as you don't need to go too far. Around here trials bikes seem to be accepted better on the lanes, I certainly seem to be recieved better than when I have ridden them on a CRM or TTR, I suspect due to the size people find them less threatening. A Pampera is probably the best compromise.
  2. Any other contact info? I get an NDR on that address.
  3. A pic of probably the ultimate RS250 in the Honda museum. I am just starting to try to build a replica, don't suppose any one has an exhaust or similar tank, vain hope really but an old TLR tank would do that I could chop up. Any one got any more pics of the works RS's??

    Tlr200 Valve-lifter

I've found that the pilot jet is critical for good starting of all Honda singles, check that it's clear and the right size ( one size bigger helps on most Honda trials bikes ) If in any doubt buy new jets, David silver will have them and not expensive. Also make sure the generator is ok, intermittant problems are common on the smaller Honda trials bikes, I guess maybe due to heat.
  5. and the other side
  6. A couple of pics of a trials Bantam I took at the Festival of 1000 Bike at Brands Hatch in the early 80's, couldn't find any thing about it but it had a patina of age, ex workd maybe?.
  7. Sammy Miller has photocopy parts list for fantics, at least the 240 anyway.
  8. Has anyone got contact info for Bill Pye?, I guess not on the internet.

    New Baby Fantic

Trial went well, power was suprising, I'm not really 125 size but still no loss of power, just needed to twist the grip further. Was in a hurry so didn't have time to move bars foward part way through, will try at the next trial but I do agree the front end didn't feel quite right. Didn't have to do that on my 200 in the early 80's, probably tied in with larger diameter of modern tyres???????.

    New Baby Fantic

Hi Honda RS I would be interested in a pair, mine are just the stickers, I will try moving the bars today but they have quite a sweep back so moving them fowards may give a bit of a cowhorn effect!, I feel a pair of renthals coming.

    New Baby Fantic

A pic of my new baby!!! Fantic 125 pro, have just finished giving it a bit of a tidy, paint stickers etc. It is very original including the stightly bizarre shaped standard bars ( may not stick with those ) and the lever/cable protectors. Just passed it's MOT so now to get it dirty tommorow, will be a nice rest from wrestling the TL250. Any one any ideas on bigger footrests for one of these?.

    Tl 305

Sorry to evangelise again but I think the TL250 is a good handling trials bike that gets amazing traction, I will concede tho' that thay are heavy and the rider will have to work harder than anyone else in the trial!. Putting my money where my mouth is my TL is staying in the garage tommorow and I'm using a Fantic!! Powroll do still do the pistons as a straight bore job, mine has an earlier 280 Powroll piston which works well, I have heard the 305 takes away alot of the bottom end smoothness.
  14. Very nice looking bike, I have just done mine with Fiat Racing Red (seemed appropriate!) which matched paint under the tank very well. Honda RS, what footrests have you used on the bike?, mine is a 125pro (very similar to 240 except engine!) and I really need some bigger rests.

    Fantic Lighting

Sorry chaps, I know I don't have to have them for the MOT, just need them as jjwhite says in case I get caught out by the weather etc. Just need them to pass the MOT rather than actualy to see by. Sorry for the confusion.

    Fantic Lighting

Hi All I am putting lights on a Fantic 125 pro ( minimum for MOT ), do I need a regulator and what colour wires do I look for from the generator. Many thanks.
  17. Just found a pic of one of the American RTL 305's, certainly same tank and seat as the first pic, looks like a truncated TL250 tank with a custom seat/side panel unit, this bike is apparently ex Whaley.
  18. I recon it's Mark Eggar, but could be wrong. By the way Jean Caullou (owner of one of Eddie L's 360) has one of these too, he has a tank like in the colour pic and also the more conventional one as in the other pic. Seeing pics of Jean's bike without tank it is amazing how different to the standard TL250 it is.
  19. Hi All Is it possible to upgrade a 125 pro to 156, either by boring or new barrel. Your thoughts would be appreciated. GB
  20. Hi All A couple of answers! Carb I use is the standard Keihin one size richer on the main. Got the jersey from Metro Racing. http://metroracing.com/cgi-local/web_store/web_store.cgi

    Wierd Tl125

    Another strange Japanese creation.
  22. Check this link out for a nice looking big bore kit for the TL125 http://www.koracing.com/index3.htm
  23. Just a pic of me taken by my daughter riding my TL250 last weekend. They really are more than the trail bike people say they are. Mine is a little modified, removed lower frame rails and rear loop, XL head and flywheel, 280cc Powroll piston, betor shocks, modern tyres, and performs really well. One thing that made a huge difference was a complete new set of internals for the carb ( still available from David Silver ), suddenly an even and very slow tickover and no off idle splutter. Only real problem is the weight if you have to pick it up and then trying to start it if it has been on it's side, a good incentive to not fall off!.
  24. Yes it was at Butser and yes it did rain!! Scared the ***** out of my dad by taking the hill out of the car park flat in third in his Cavalier, didn't need a tow tho'!. It was the only world round I photographed but I will check my negs, I think I have Miglio and Nicky England.
