  1. Well put Mr Dicky You are 100% correct. This is a national event. On the subject of National events and the Normandale Traditional Nationals - the events that enjoy the greatest support are the ones that offer a genuine challenge without the risk of serious injury. Club trials are a different event and severity (I'm sure that will not need pointing out to certain members who have been riding trials for 44 years). From what I can see from your posts, you have listened to feed back from people who have ridden (and endured constructive observations from people who haven't) in the event and taken this on board. I hope the event is a sucess. From someone who has ridden and supported the event many times over the years and has also been riding trials over 40 years (not quite know it all status yet).
  2. OFT just wanting to do things different and undermine evreyone else as usual because he knows best !
  3. Fair points Woody but: 3 Twin shocks 4 Air cooled mono And 5 Pre 65 enteries For what is a british championship round ? I'm sure its nothing to do with the clubs, they all know how to run a good trial and there's lots of hard work goes in to organising these events Woody I think you may be right. Plenty of people don't appear to have issues traveling large distances and in some cases including overnight stays to some events. Maybe the championship needs clear guidelines on section plotting, observing and application of the rules to ensure that the prestige of a british championship is re-created. Good old fasioned sections observed correctly can be chalenging enough for anyone, yet not dangerous to less skilled riders (like myself).
  4. From the Bemrose with 200 entries and over subscribed, to this weekends round with an enrty of approx 35% that number. Many top names who competed in the earlier rounds appear to be dropping out each round. So! Where is everyone? Why are the entries declining each round? What's gone wrong with the championship? Other classic championships appear to be going from strength to strenght ie, the PJ1 Northern British Bike Championship and that's without twin shock classes.

There is nothing wrong with Pidcocks wanting to sell the bike and make a living. For those of you who don't know. Thats how all business's work. If you don't like the 4RT don't buy it. For all the rest. Its not Pidcocks fault if you can't afford it!
  6. The rider in question was already over 50 mins late at the punch card change (he was was still @ section 3 when riders with nunbers in the 50s arrived. He always hangs back. His mitigating "reason" was acceped un-verified, regarding a reason on the second punch card and the over riding individual was not the clerk of the course ! When the said individual allowed the rider an extra 20mins (still the reason was un-verified) he was informed that this still meant exclution; he then said to remove all the time penalties. I am aware of a verbal protest on the day but this was disguarded as apparently the 30 min time limit had passed !!!! There were still riders arriving back to sign off at this point ! The bottam line is that "the club would not dare upset this individual"
  7. There was issues at section three for the first riders to arrive. But that doesn't explain the Results. If riders wait too long they get time penalty's. Thats what rules are for ? Not to be changed when local riders "moan" and make up fantacies for being late. There is nothing to gain from naming names - its the officials who are at fault for not enforcing the rules to benifit selected people. I know of at least two other people who witnessed what happened on Sunday and who were told the same as me.
  8. Just had the results through for last weekends Derbyshire Dales Trial. There appears to have been some manipulating of the results with regard to time penaltys. I say manipulating because what can't speak can't lie ! How can someone who was nearly an hour late (as per the calculation taken from his punch card) have no penaltys in the published results ? Especially after time penaltys were initally entered on the score board and the words excluded also entered by the side of his name on the day ? What is the point in people traveling from all over the UK & rushing round, when such blatant flouting of the rules occurs for certain "local" people ? Then to be told that any dispute had to be logged within 30 mins of the results being published? There was no dispute when the last Pre65 rider's result was initally entered on the score board and the words excluded by his name. This was obviously changed. I would have hoped that after the Bemrose fiasco things would have been better. If this is how the championship is now being run? Then I'm done with it. Farce is all I can say
  9. Excellent ride from Carl Batty It's a real shame he cant get a ride in Scotland. He rides and supports Pre 65's all year (not like one or two of the hopefull winners who got an entry). People like Carl are the future of the "sport". Not the middle aged superstars of yester year, who just ride selected high profile events !! So what a shame it is; that a certain individual (who's clearly trying to create bad feeling within the Pre 65 class) appears to see himself as Carl's press officer who in his haste to cause bad feeling; can't even get his facts right! Or is he going to cry "Cheat" again ? And although the term "first loser" is well known. It was clearly used in a derogatory tone and niether Rob Bowyer or Dave Thorpe can be described as losers ! It's a shame because; on the odd occation that I've spoken with Carl he' always appeared to be a decent bloke who loves his sport and lets his riding do the talking Congratulations Carl. Keep your feet up and good luck in retaining your title.
  10. hmmm mono Yam front mudguard... I guess thats because its fastened to what look externally just like mono Yam front forks (minus the leading axle) !!! It must be different what applies to forks that clearly resemble Japanese units (that wasn't produced until the 80's) as opposed to the old Spanish ones like Woodys ???
