  1. You couldn't do any worse than my first trial. Coming out of the very first section up a slight bank my throttle stuck open,Panicked and ended up disappearing into a load of bramble bushes for five minutes. Every one was p****** themselves laughing at me followed by a round of applause for the entertainment value I think. Any way sorted the carb. and removed the thorns from various places and carried on regardless. I still spend more of my time on my a*** than on the bike but I love it. You can only look a fool once then it's expected!!
  2. Does or has anyone fitted the 125 engine into the 50/80cc frame from an early twinshock.circa 1980's. Should it be possible is there much modification to the frame involved? Advice gratefully recieved before I go any further!!
  3. So just to clear it up.It should be a PHBH28BS. Are the jet sizes in the second post correct though? Thanks chaps
  4. Well that's a bugger!! I only live half a mile away from their shop. Always helpful even to numbskulls like me. I do hope some one will take advantage of this situation and see the potential in the business.
  5. Many thanks for the replies. I have decided to go for the njb trix shocks as per recommendation in reply above, they seem a good quality shock for the money(£139 delivered) and the guy certainly seems to know his stuff at njb. Thanks Gary
  6. Could anyone identify the type of shocks from the picture for me. I can't find any stamps on them. Do you think they are of the repairable type or is this just not economical to do? They are fitted to my Italjet t350(later model see Italjet forum) I could do with some advice about renewing. The bike is around the 90kg mark and I am a slim 16 stone what spring rate would you advise? (I'll get the one in about lorry springs here first!!!!) Any particular make that people favour?. At the moment they are 340mm is there any advantage with putting slightly longer ones on the bike. I would like more travel in the shocks than what i have at the moment. Any sensible advice would be gratefully recieved. Thanks Gary
  7. I am currently restoring a jt100. The problem I have is that although the engine is good (Minarelli p6 t74) it came with the kickstart shaft, springs and cogs/gear all removed so I have nothing to cross reference to. If any body could shed any light on this or has some dimensions or photo's of the parts it would be considerably apprieciated and give me somewhere to start from. Any idea if these engines were fitted to other makes or any other information. Many Thanks
  8. Good thinking batman!!! I could do with one of those t-shirts as well
  9. I think you may be right on this issue jc. it does run differently (sounds rougher, irregular) with the switch in the down position. With this in mind I assume I should be running with the switch in the 'up' position(sounds dumb I know)! Thanks GB
  10. Hello Chaps. This is my first post on here so be gentle with me!! Having always been a Bultaco type of person I decided to go for something a little different this time and whilst browsing my way through ebay decided to take a punt on the bike pictured. An italjet 'Feather' t250/350 (not sure yet)!! If anyone knows of a simple identification process please let me know. I bought it 'blind' with the reasurrance that it ran. My intensions were to tinker and fettle the bike up to using in clubman trials and in a few years time go for the full on restoration. The seller duly delivered the bike and I must say I was pleasantly surprised to see the bike although used was better than I anticipated. There was none of the usual bodges from 4 decades of use. A bit of fresh go juice and away she went although not too happy about it. The owner for ten years prior had used the bike to round up his cows for milking apparently. Anyway Having gone through the usual routine of plug cleaning, carb emptying I now have a bike that runs as sweet as a nut and rides straight, I took a punt and it seems this time it has paid off at least this time. I have the dumb question coming now. I have never had any dealings with electronic ignition. As you may be able to see from the attached picture there is a switch with three stages (up, middle and down)! I would like to know if possible what position the switch should be in for starting and running. If any of you kind people have an answer it would be apprieciated. Signing off Gary.
