  1. Just wondering on the 2010 models is the 300 smooth with the short front pipe ? Is the 300 a smoother bike to ride than the 250 ? Both questions are with the flywheel weight on . Am coming from an 09 evo 250 and am pretty sure its the 300 i want as had a shot and liked it from the off , but having a wee shot is different from riding one all the time.

    CHEERS

Roddy if your at the club trial next Sunday at kinlochleven you can try my bike a standard 300 with weight on it is very smooth to ride.

  2. Well there you go the 2010 dates are out and it looks as if several of the top runners wont be taking part in the A/B championship, mainly because of the increased mileage and cost of competing in the series. So next year it will be down to who can aford the time & money as apposed to who is the best rider. Will there ever be a year when we don,t go to Bracken rocks?

In the 2006 season youth A,B i took my son to all the youth rounds the only season where it didnt clash with our own nationals the total miles that season 7,320 he was no top runner but enjoyed the experience and made a lot friends along the way on a very limited budget they are only kids for a short time and you will never get these years back , we never went to Bracken rocks that year but it was one of our favourite venues over the past few seasons just to let you know we left Lochaber on Saturday last year for the IOW round mid morning and was back home for work at 7 am Monday but not so sure you will have to make that trip .

  3. I dont care whats said, the keihin made a huge improvement over the keihin, as did the ti pipe and v-force reeds I fitted to a mates bike for him.

hows your mates bike running with all the mods you fitted has he had any problems with his Sherco ?

  4. Your right,no need for the language,sorry.

Just trying to make the point that no matter how many routes and hard you work, you cannot please everyone all the time.

I'm off to Balfron early tomorrow to start work.

See you all on sunday, weather permitting

Thanks davieboy you are right it is hard to please everyone and it very rarely happens

I spend most of my spare time being involved with trials setting out observing taking photos for the club and sometimes the occasional report for the local paper and i have had my fair share of negative comments in the past.

Going back to the topic starter i thought the green and yellow route on sunday were spot on the blue and red routes i thought was very demanding forget about Garry as he is on a different level to everyone in our National events and hopefully nobody will set trials to give him a hard day as the rest of the riders would be lying in bits as well as there bikes out with him the best scores on the blue and red route were just short of 60 but no complaints of it being to hard i think thats because when entering these classes riders know what to expect. Craiglash is one of our best venues in Scotland and hope to return and ride it next year

Good luck to davieboy for Sunday hope all goes well i unfortunately will not make it as i am of for a small break but will be back to help at the Pollock national observing , entry is over 100 at present and should be a good warm up for the SSDT.

  5. I find it disturbing that the secretary would use that type of language and make such a derogatory comment to a fifteen year old youth rider over a comment that, at the time, was made in jest to the CoC Graham after he rode the last section. Even more alarming is that an SACU official responded by applauding this.

Just to be clear I was actually at the section when the comment was made along with many others.

  6. I would have told the big-headed .... to f... off!

    Just a few points

The big headed one droped an average of 25 marks per round last year and over 90 at the lochaber round in glen nevis so his comments are not far of the mark

The BAMCC national this weekend was exelent and hope this will be the bench mark for all the rounds

Two years ago no pre - 65 or twin shocks entered the Lochaber national youth/twin shock round yet some rounds get a good entry

  7. Looking at the Scottish ACU fixtures last week, there was a Youth National penciled in for May 3rd near Fort William, (Glen Nevis). It would seem to have been deleated from the fixtures this week. Shame, it would have been a good exscuse to go up for a couple of days spectating at the SSDT.

    Any other dates/venues ?

It would be nice to have a British youth round in Scotland while Scotland is still part of the U.K

  8. I was surprised to see that Richmond never got a round this year as it was the best in 2006 and even more surprised no round in 2008 ? I also see that that a round has been allocated on May 4th. this would have been a good date for Lochaber who I know tried for a round in 2008 with the pre65 on Friday and Saturday youth A,B Sunday and the SSDT starting on Monday this would in my opinion make sense as it is one of the biggest events of the trials year and rounds in Scotland , England and Wales .

  9. Allan was in the IOW aswell, must have been an 1100 mile round trip! Bet there was some Red Bull consumed on that trip.

We travelled 150miles north of our house for the Scottish championship round the next day as well!

i have to say there was no Red Bull in the van!
