    Xispa Air Box ?

Thanks for the reply, and yes I was being serious. I can see where your coming from, maybe I didnt explain/describe very well. The problem is the Filter is directly under the "Big Hole" after just 10 mins riding the Filter was full of mud. On my Pro the the Filter is protected by a clear plastic cover that stops this happening. But there isnt enough room on the Xispa to try and fit one.

    Xispa Air Box ?

Ok I have taken a "punt" on a 09 250R for my lad because its mint and was silly money cheap. I must say from first impressions its appears pretty ok and rides spot on !! The only problems I can see at the moment (and its a biggy) is the Air Box. The intake is directly under a large opening in the "seat" plastics. The first wiff of mud/water and the thing just sucks it right in. Has anyone else had similar issues, or better still found a cure/fix.???
  4. Hello there. Me and the wife are coming to the Isle of Wight at the end of May with our mountain bikes. Now that I know there is Trialing to be had I may stick the gas gas in the van as well ! Dont tell the wife !!!!!!!!
  5. Or maybe this is the reason News coming through from an Italian newspaper suggest Marzocchi have major financial troubles and may close the MTB side of things. More news when we get it. http://www.linformazione.com/ The FIOM-CGIL warns of Bologna for Tenneco-Marzocchi: home wind of a trade union was “difficult situation, complicated by the general crisis”, but yesterday’s meeting with the management and they ‘arrived at ‘announced intention to “sell or close the historical activity’ related to mountain biking, mountain biking, result in large revenues and prestige of the past and today, although regrettable for a clear and unable to strategic management, strongly blamed for the loss of business accumulated in three years, about 22 million U.S. dollars. ” To tell you how things are made, and the “great concern” about the announcement yesterday, and ‘a note of the FIOM-CGIL. And the problem is not alone. The union also complained about the apparent “non-compliance of the business plan,” especially for “lack of investment announced,” the inability ‘of marginality create’ win-and keep new customers. “
  6. Maybe Gas Gas tried the usual corporate trick of playing one supplier against another to try and get pricing down,p****d Marzocchi off and now they wont supply to them. Have seen it happen before. Would of thought in terms of unit sales Gas Gas are relatively small too Marzocchi. Just a thought !!!
  7. I for one hope so (excuse the pun) If they have the same quality and "feel" as the Hopes I have on my Mountain Bike I certainly fancy some on my Pro, and they are British of course.
  8. I had the same issues, think I was trying to "feel" for the rear brake like on a road bike which was impossible with trials boots on (well for me anyway) After playing around with the position of pedal things have improved a lot. Its now set so that when its fully on my boot is level with the ground, not pointing down. It seems to work for me.
  9. Yep disconnect the kill switch. With mine I unscrewed the Plug Cap from the H.T Lead (just in case the Cap is faulty) Hold the H.T Lead 5-6mm from the Cylinder Head and get someone else to kick it over. You should be able to see the Spark jump the gap. Hope that helps.
  10. If the Kill Switch checks out ok and its got Ducati Ignition have a look at the Voltage Regulator. My 2006 Pro did exactly the same. When I checked for a spark I only got one every 2-3 kicks.
  11. Hi John,Holly,Jake. Where abouts are you, Im in Tod and just got back into Trials after some 30+ years. Started on a TY80 when I was 11 so know exactly how much fun your 2 are having. Me and my 19 year lad ride up at Cowm. If you have not been up there already, give it a go. Its a great place for the kids to learn and Safe. If you are already riding up there then come and say hello sometime. Not sure about the "big wheel" conversion, but Im sure someone on here will be along with an answer pretty soon. Warren
  12. http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/topic/40937-bike-cut-out-and-now-it-wont-start/ Bit of a long shot but have a read of the above. My 2006 300 had very similar problems to yours. When she did start she would run great, but over a few rides she got harder and harder to start (hot or cold) until finally wouldnt start at all. Maybe your Regulator is slowly "breaking down" as I suspect mine did. May have nowt to do with it but worth a quick look !!!!!!!!

  14. No apologies required my friend, it would seem that 2005/2006 was a change over year for the Gas Gas Ignitions. Even then there were two Regulators fitted one with a Black connector (mine) and one with a Blue connector. As a result of your post I know "a little more " about Ignition Systems. As far as Im concerned the more I learn the better. And you never know it may help someone with a similar problem. Thanks again Warren
  15. Update !!!!!!!! After doing all the checks suggested and getting the results expected, still nowt !!!! Even pulled the Flywheel to check the key, all good. So I decided to use the none scientific approach of replacing the bits that are "broke" so bit the bullet and order a new Regulator. Fitted it today and guess what ? yes it started second kick !!!!!!! So it would appear that the "bit that plays no part in the ignition system" plays a major part in the ignition system. Ah well every days a school day. Happy days, can get out and ride this weekend !!!!
