  1. That's a shame, maybe it's not suited to the newer bikes, who knows? Lol. Do you have a contact number for the place in Shropshire Bondy? I have tried google but only get horse riding or places down south, if you could send it on a PM mate that would be great. Just so I can clear things before I make plans to travel. I picked up my new bike rack yesterday so can get out more frequently now hopefully. Lol
  2. Staldantes I'm glad you found a solution, even if it's not ideal it does the job for now. Atleast you've found the fault.
  3. Yeh thanks Bondy. Loads of good help on here, as I said I'd still be chasing my tail now without the help. I don't live too far from Liverpool airport, that sort of part of Liverpool, obviously don't want to be too specific on a public forum lol. I also swear by ipone, been using it for a good while now and havnt got a bad word to say about the stuff. I have been looking at the 250 pro's. Definatly the next bike I think, bit pointless me getting anything else until I master the basics on my trusty little 200 though, so I'm staying put for now. Haha.
  4. Oh right, that sounds decent mate. Might have to take a trip down there. Are there any clips on YouTube or on the net? I would definatly recommend at least trying cowm Bondy, theres loads to explore there, you can actually leave the van and only go back for fuel and you still won't see everything.
  5. Take the clutch cover off mate and take the clutch out. Have a look at the springs and the friction plates, I'd imagine that your fault lies there somewhere and will probably be massively obvious.
  6. Yeh cowm is well worth a visit mate. I will be back down there in about 2 weeks if you fancy it. Could do with some company. Lol. Where is the place in Staffordshire? How long does it take to get there?
  7. Did you actually get it into gear? If second engaged then the plates arnt stuck together. When they stick you won't be able to select a gear at all. The bike will just stall as if you havnt pulled the clutch in
  8. Excellent news mate. Glad all is ok.
  9. This is getting beyond a joke now. I have some stuff for sale on a 4x4 website, some clown who is a long standing forum member sent me a PM saying what he wanted, we agreed a price and I sent him my PayPal address (which is obviously my email address). Minutes later I get a "PayPal" email from HIS address telling me to follow a link and enter my password to receive payment!!! the dozy ******* sent me his postal address in a PM too, so once I've reported him to PayPal and the forum admin I'm going to s**t in a jiffy bag and send him that, with his so called PayPal recipt! That'll teach him. Lol. I know it's not the same as your situation and I feel for you and hope you get it sorted.
  10. Where do you practice in bromborough Nelly? Is it a practice site or just some Private land you have access too. Cheers mate.
  11. I would think carefully before taking the bike to the police. If it is stolen you will loose your bike and the money you paid for it as a best case scenario. Worst case they accuse you of stealing it or charge you with handling stolen goods. Sound stupid? When have you known the way the law works in this country to be logical, especially when the police don't care too much anyway as you've already said. I've seen this happen to people. You really have to chase the ba**ard who sold you it, if it was me I'd push for my money back. The bike may be legit but you will have a hard time explaining the VIN when it comes to reselling.
  12. Thanks for the tips, I'll try adjusting and lubricating them first to see what happens. They arnt rough, just a little bit of forward/backward play. The actual steering is ok and smooth. Suppose it's worth a shot before buying new ones.
  13. Thanks bill. No I've never changed a set. They arnt rough, the steering works well but there is play in the bearings that is noticeable, I assume this means they've had it. Lol. Going out again this weekend, let the learning begin. The more bike time I can get the better.
  14. Oh cheers haighy, I've use POA a lot in the past, never noticed them selling trials gear, but then again I've never really looked. Lol. I'll give them a ring tomorrow and if they can't help I might have a road trip coming up, after payday of course. Haha. Thanks mate.
  15. Great, that sound ok. Believe it or not I've actually ordered parts form them before but totally forgot about them. Lol. I'll have a look on their website now. Cheers.
  16. Hi. Not sure if this is in the right section but I'm looking for a shop in the north west that sells trials gear. I need a helmet but obviously need to try it on first which rules out buying online. I'm in Reading in a few weeks if anybody knows of a shop down there if there's non closer to home. thanks for reading, Craig.
  17. Well I finally got out yesterday, just like to say thank you to everyone for your help. The bike run great and couldn't have done it without your help. A few small problems to add to the to-do list but nothing major. Just rear wheel bearings, take a link out of the chain and soon enough will have to change headstock bearings, which I'm Not looking forward too. Lol. Thanks again. Craig
  18. I used a waterproof grease on the roller bearings, the rollers themselves and the outside of the sleeve. But then I use an anti sieze compound (copper slip) on the bolts and the outside of the bearing (the part that contacts the actual dog bone). The bolts are a nightmare if the sieze to the sleeve inside the bearing, and a smear inside the dog bone will help when replacing bearings next time.
  19. Hi guys. Sorry for the very late reply, been struggling for time to rebuild the bike, it's 99% ready now though, all the gear selector/clutch and casing are built up now, one of the bolts that secure the clutch slave had stripped the thread inside the casing, which delayed me as I had to drill and tap a larger thread, and thats all I'm waiting for now I just need to take my bolt that fits into work an shorten it, then I'm ready to go. I went to cowm leisure today on the enduro bikes an it gave me a massive kick up the ar$e to get the trials bike sorted, what a facility that is. Will defo be goin back there again.
  20. Lol, yes just about enough left to fill the bikes up. Vegas has gone so expensive in the last few years, the food and drink etc. worth it though I suppose. It would be loverly to just find somewhere good and ride it, there's too much red tape over here, and if you actually like your bike and want to keep it, it's not worth riding illegally. Just the way it is really, enjoy it, your very lucky. Lol
  21. Las Vegas five. The jetlag is a nightmare. Lol Cheers for that. I'll nip it up with a rachet, I'll get a mate to hold the basket for me to make life a litte easier too.
  22. Hi everyone. I'm going to be building the bike up this weekend hopefully, just trying to fight off this jetlag first. Lol. Does anybody have a tightening torque for the big nut holding the clutch basket on? Or will FT do the job, it wasn't overly tight coming off as I remeber? Thanks.
