I had a tour round the USS Kittyhawk, when the Pacific Fleet, stopped off in Hong Kong on the way back from Operation Restore Hope in Somalia. Even though its one of the smaller US aircraft carrier, it still had over 30 aircraft in it.
Carla Calderer, now she makes Laia seem timid in comparison. I've seen her scream a torrent of abuse to her minder, when all they did was advise on the line in a section.
She does get the rub of the green but I suppose it goes with the territory of being a world champ. I once saw her five a section but the observer gave a three, which she argued to a one.
I imagine the vast majority of these forums are ACU members and therefore should be able to let the ACU know our feelings. I've met Mick Wren at a few WTC's and he is a sound bloke and just the kind you need on the TEC.
Anyone any ideas about how we go about complaining about Mick's treatment?
After losing the 2007 WTC on the cruelest of rules (last goals the winner) it was good to see Laia Sanz back at the top of women's trials, not that she ever wasn't. At the moment she is way ahead of the opposition, however Becky Cook is becoming a serious challenger to Iris Kramer.
Whilst Doug is going to take some beating and it will be 3 in a row, lady luck also as a large part to play in the day's event. A certain Mr Lampkin told me that Fujigas is fast and I have no reason to doubt him. But lets not forget some other fast riders, Jarvis - who just won the Red Bull Romainiac's Enduro, at the first attempt and the first non French bloke to win. (mind you Kent is pretty close to France), Browny's quick as is Dibs and Braybrook.
The Scott is a truly great and unique event, long may it continue.
Oh and lets not forget my good mate, Denzil. Good luck DJ.
You could always ask that idiot American bloke who I've seen on the telly who eats at least one everyday and reckons he has eaten over 23,000. His wife said '' i don't spend much time at the store shopping for groceries.''
Hot and dry, I would have come if it had been cold and wet. The TdN was great last year so I imagine that Andorra will be even better, even without Cheezy, chips and gravy.
The Scott is as entertaining as any WTC, however I wouldn't call it fun. Fun to watch, but I don't suppose too many people think it fun to ride.
It is fantastic news Fuji is riding and its no secret that this boy is fast. So with Doug now riding a Beta 2 stroke, Fujigas and the expected challenge from Jarvis, it is going to be one hell of an event.
However with such a unique event anything can, and usually does, happen
These photo's don't really do the bike justice as they were taken from my mobile. One of the great things about the Montesa is that there are so many after sale factory parts available you can make your bike stand out.

Not quite the result we all expected from the British Team, but it happens. I'm sure they will be back to reclaim the title 2009.
