  1. This is proper playstation riding where you can start again if you crash, didnt think anyone was this crazy & would be in such a rush to get to work!
  2. Your right, practice make perfect, well in most cases anyway. Think im going to pop out and have a blast for an hour whilst its stoped raining
  3. I have no idea what any of this means, but reckon I need a whizz kid to make me one of them wireless tranducer thingys (i'm a sucker for a gadget)
  4. Oh and by the way after all the help ive had over the last couple of weeks I did the decent thing and signed up to be a site supporter, I figured its the least I could do as there are some decent guys on here that dont mind helping a noob with his sill questions. Thanks, I appreciate it
  5. RE: Domino throttle I know that the black is slow and that the white is fast..........but mine is silver metal one on a beta 270 2006? I have purchased (but not fitted) a new black slow one thinking that it may make a differnce and it was only a few quid but when I look at it it seems exactly the same as my existing metal one, both only do a 1/4 turn when the cable is attached, can someone tell me exactly how the slow action throttle works? I presumed that you would have to turn it more to get the full power? If so would I be right in thinking that my existing metal one is also a slow action so no point in swaping them? And lastly is there any other way of making it even slower action? I went out yesterday for the first time properly and spent the afternoon hanging on for for my life, it seems to fly away with me and I found it really hard to just potter round slowy (great for thrashing up and down the field though, but this is not why I bought a trials bike) ive checked and it still has the flywheel weight fitted so now Im thinking unless I can slow it any other way? then I might be better to sell it and get a 125/200
  6. Also thanks to the others for your imput, its much appreciated

  9. Hi guys, just bought a 2006 rev-3 270 as my first bike, I have never ridden any kind of motorbike before and was absolutly shocked by what this can do with a tiny flick of the wrist, basicly it through me straight off the back and smashed into the van of the fella who was selling it (see post in general forum) So anyway my q's are, Slow action throttle - Does it make much difference? Is there anything else that I could do to make the bike a little more learner friendly? Maintenance - I have no idea where to start, I kinda thought that I would hose it down after each session and take it in for a service once a year for a service, the fella who sold it laughed and started telling me of all the things that need doing after each ride or after a couple of rides and it sounds quite a lot, What is your routine for the bike before and after each ride? What oils do you use and how often? What fuel mix? He told me 80ml of oil in 5L of fuel but I worked it out from the spec found on tinternet that it should be more like 150ml in 5L, any thoughts? And what other routine maintenance do you carry out and at what intervals? Where can I find instructions/diagrams to follow these procedures? I use E60.net as a car forum and they have a 'how to DIY' section, is there any thing like that for trials? Any help would be appreciated
  10. So today I have collected my new bike, a 2006 Beta Rev-3 270 and this is how it went... I have never ridden a motorbike of any sort so when the fella who was selling it said here have a go, I explained this to him but me being me thought, what the hell, how hard can it be? So under his not so carefull instruction I hopped on, put it into gear, gave it some revs, let out the clutch................flipped onto back wheel then BANG, stacked it straight into the side of the fellas van As you can imagine I was ****ting myself and the falla just stood there with a 'what the **** just happened' look on his face So after many appologies and me calming down I adventually bought the bike (I thought it would be rude not to) On a positive note I think my trials days can only get better from here on
  11. Thanks for the advise guys, ive gone for a 2006 Beta Rev-3 270 All I need now is to get out and learn to ride it
  12. When you say early Gas Gas pros were trouble, how early do you mean? is an 02/03 going to be trouble? Thanks
  13. thanks for the replys guys, some interesting points to think about. Where else is a decent place to look for bikes, ive looked on here and ebay, auto/biketrader doesnt have much and seem expensive, am I missing anywhere else thats worth a look?
  14. What would you recomend as a decent 2nd hand beginers bike? I'm 31, and about 15st, reasonably strong but never ridden a motorbike bike before, been thinking about it for ages and decided to give it a go. used to do bmx to a decent level years ago so should be ok with balance etc so hopefully will pick up the basics pretty easy (famous last words) Budget of around £1000, idealy less than this if possible as seen some bikes on ebay going pretty cheap But if this is only gonna get me a piece of junk then I can spend more if I have to, just dont want to spend £££££'s and then trash it, lol Based in wolverhampton so if anyone round here knows any decent spots to learn please let me know? Dont mind traveling within reason. Any help will be appreciated Thanks Sparky
  15. Hi guys Just about to buy my first trials bike at the grand old age of 31 and came across this site, Hopefully i'll be able to find out loads of info and maybe make the odd contribution (when I know what i'm on about lol) Im from wolverhampton west mids so if there are any guys around that know of some spots that would be decent for a beginer please let me know? I rode BMX to a decent level (a good few years ago) so hoping to pick this up without killing myself :-) I know this is different but some of the basics like balance etc should see me ok, but im a quick learner anyway!
