  1. Think about it. How can you set both a static sag, and a sag relevant for the weight of rider. You can't. For most riders ie. average weight 10.5 to maybe 12 stone, then 10mm static sag is probably about right (i.e it results in 1/3rd sag when they're on the bike. However the way to set it up correctly is 1/3rd sag when the rider is 'on it'. For a heavier rider this will result in no static sag at all. Conversely a lighter rider will have much more static....... As your shock spring 'ages' you may well need to reset the preload to keep it at 1/3rd travel.
  2. Why is it when I attend World rounds in Europe i.e recently France and Andorra there is no charge to view? For the privileged of attending the UK round I have to pay £30. Don't get me wrong, I can afford £30, just throwing it out there for discussion...........
  3. Wow: you boys are really technical. I simply increase 'tick-over' ....... and lower the gearing to compensate......
  4. I'm using a Kangoo 4x4 Van. Best 'Trials Transporter' I've ever owned. One Trials bike with ease, two if you take out front wheel and mudguard on one of the bikes....... best of all never get stuck in muddy start fields..... and great for getting around venues to mark out etc......
  5. Dead easy to fix........ Go round both sides of the wheel (where the tyre bead sits within the 'channel' inside the rim) twice with duct tape (similar brands available) cut to about 5mm width. This has the effect of increasing the inner circumference of the rim to match the tyre. Don't be tempted to go round more than twice otherwise the tyre will not have enough room to seat, and will just 'pop off' when you deflate the tyre. Being doing this for years with IRC's since I had one off the rim at Ruby Rocks many years ago and had to push about 3 miles back to the start. Being a 'Southerner', riding lots of glorious mud, I regularly in the Winter run as low 2psi and have never had an IRC (or any other tyre) off the rim since doing this mod.

9/46...... it's all about personal preference isn't it?...... IRC's, been running them for years at down to 2.5lbs when required, never had a problem on any rim. 'Duck tape' modification is all that is required....

My first 'proper' ride on the new 4RT at Exmoor M.C. tomorrow; after having run in last weekend.... Suspension set up, 9T front, 46T rear, X-lite front, IRC rear, oils and filters changed...... Can't wait to make some noise........
  8. Why? Because they're an easy target..... How? You're probably being following home after an event..... we all need to be more vigilent.....
