  1. Do some more trials in the same class, 5 or 10 more, then if you win all of them you should move up a class! Like has been said every trial is different, and some you will win some you won't, as long as you are enjoying yourself! I know of some that stay in the novice class because they win all the time, so the trophy collection is growing, good to show your friends I suppose, but it's not challenging themselfs or fair on the other novices! There should be a rule in the clubs, if you win "x" amount of times in a certain class you should move up. But how would they control it??? Well done for wining your first trial, I once did the same when I was in my teens, I won my class at a trials day, was really happy until I looked and see that I was the only twin shocker there that day!
  2. Dag Timo, Ik ok heb en 315 (and ook a vriend van Guy (above) The monty 315 is a good bike, you will have fun. If you ever plan to come and visit Belgium, let me and Guy know and we can all go for a ride! There is a good site in genk. ;o)
  3. Just had another look on southwest, 21M = Cota Trials 5spd 250cc (Cota 247) ;o)
  4. Took a picture of the kick start for you, it has no markings on it, only a very tiny "made in Japan" on the end of the foot rubber. It does go forwards quite a way, so I will have to investigate that further, perhaps it needs fixing, so I will take it to work and weld it there! I had a look on southwest montesa, the only one that comes close and matches, is the ulf Karlson 247, so that's what I think it is! The seat is definitely wrong, and ooh so ugly, so that is going to be changed Found the numbers on the frame and engine, they are matching, (is that correct) they look to be original, no dodgy buisiness there! The numbers are 21M***** Does that look correct? Thanks once again Cheers Shaun
  5. Forgot to ask Chris, where are you located? Uk or ? So we can advise on spare parts suppliers.
  6. Had all the Pistons siezed on? Or the master stuck? The seals could have perished, or ripped, allowing water and grit in there, causing them to stick/seize.
  7. Thank you for the quick response, I will do some more searching Yes the seat does look strange, and not one I have seen before, I'm going to change/modify it, as it's too long. I will do some changes to it also, perhaps not 100% original, depends on how badly broken it is and parts supply! The kickstart does go quite a way forward, I will look into that! Fingers crossed. Thanks again, I will post further pictures as it progresses Have a good weekend Cheers Shaun
  8. Here are some pictures, it needs some work and parts changing like the rear tyre for a start. But I will strip it completely down, blast it and paint it!
  9. Hi all, I have been off for a while due to commitments and illness, Been playing on my 315 for the past couple of weekends to get my body and arms back into it! Anyway my reason for posting, I have just swapped my old Honda Dax chinese copy for a old twin shock monty project, but how do I tell what model it is? I have done all the usual searches but I'm still baffled. It has a twin spark plug head, a amal carb, little metal air box The tank/seat unit is fibreglass. The front wheel is on the wrong way round! Where is the frame numbers on these old models, it could be that the brush painted frame is just thick and I can't see it. I will strip it down and blast the frame at work. Thanks for your advice (I will try and post a picture to help) Cheers Shaun
  10. Thanks for the reply, I thought they would fit the forks, but was not sure if they would fit the bracket without mod's. Looks like it's time to get the drill out! Cheers
  11. Do any of you clever folk know if a montesa 4rt front mudguard will fit a mont 315? I ask because I'm looking for a black front mudguard, as im changing my bike colour to black, but can't seem to find any, the usual stockist don't have any advertised on their sites, and I don't want to just spray the red ones. I see lots of 4rt ones, so was thinking if they will fit! Thanks for your help Shaun
  12. Venturing into twin shocks guy? The Sherpa (although a 250) was the first trial bike I ever rode, nice bikes. Good luck with it.
  13. Great video, I like the chap who tries a back flip!!!!!!

  15. i had an invitation from my friend on here (guys) to go over and see his club's trial in genk. its only an hour and half drive for me so i though it would make a nice trip out for me and the little dog! it is the Trial club Maaskant, held at the great site in genk. i had the opertunity to chat to some of the other members and observers, all very welcoming and friendly, (i must improve my dutch!) thanks all, and Guy! i hope once i have bought myself another bike i will also compete, easy to start with! ha ha! anyway here are some pictures, enjoy! (the first two are a little view of the site, it is bigger!) thanks shaun
  16. I once bought an old honda enduro, that had never been registered, and I wanted to put it on the road. So I had to get proof of age, I wrote to Honda uk with all the details, and they sent me proof letter for the age, I think I had to pay about £25 if I remember correctly, (it was more than 15 years ago) I can't remember their address now, sorry, but if you do a search you will find it. With this I applied for a registration from DVLA, and had no problems. Hope that helps Shaun
  17. Hi Andreas, I am in Herne 1541. This seems to be a great forum, lots of useful information, I have sat and read lots of the threads, and learnt alot. I have not ridden trials for a quite a few years, I went onto enduro, but now I am getting back, into it. So I am slowly looking for a montesa 315 or a 4rt, no rush at the moment. There seems to be some nice helpful people on here, (especially our Belgium friend guy) I am off to see a trial in February near to where guy is from, so I'm looking forward to that. Some time in the summer we should have a friendly practice/play weekend somewhere! (I should have a bike by then) be good to meet some members from here. Cheers Shaun
  18. Hi and welcome (I am also new on here) (and in Belgium)
  19. I have just voted! We had a similar thing with 4x4's (and bikes) they would say, "oh we are closing the lane for maintenance" Then the bunny hungers would get involved, and before you know it the lane was closed for all but walkers and horse riders (and horses also cause damage when it's soft and wet, I know my wife has three, our field used to be green) Don't let them get away with it, it should be enjoyed by all. But also you have to give respect for the walkers (I know it's sucking up a Little, but also polite) what I mean is slow down or better, stop when they walk past, say morning, hello whatever. If they see someone tear past, then that's all they will talk about at their next green meeting! We had some lanes (right of way) that had become overgrown in places, so was not able to pass on foot or wheels, one weekend we all (bikes, cars, horse riders) arranged a clearance day, to go and maintain it, now all can enjoy it. Also if you see damage or disrepair, inform the locals that need to know, so it can be kept in good condition. Keep the lanes open, So we can be of benefit, Thanks Shaun
  20. Dank u guys! Ik Ben Engels, nar ik woon in Belgia, en ik spreek een beetje nederlands! (ik proberen)! Hoop dat mijn spelling correct is I am English, but now live in Belgium, I speak a little Dutch, (I try) I hope my spelling is correct. Cheers Shaun
  21. Hello all, I am re living my youth, (mid life crises) and want to get back into trials. I used to have bikes most of my younger years, started riding about 6 years old. (Honda Z50) I raced with the army, enduro and trials, and did some local club trials also. Then I got more interested into land rovers and off roading, so went down that route, but I always missed my bikes, and always regretted selling them. My friend here in Belgium has a few bikes, and the other week let me have a play on his fanatic in the garden, Wow, I'm hooked again! made me realise what I'm missing. So I am selling the land rovers and will hunt for a trials bike. I would like to do some twin shock events, and perhaps some gentle mono events (so I will look for a twin shocker and an early mono) I wish to just have fun and enjoy riding again. Thanks all Shaun
