  1. Its restricted to 125cc and about 12hp for a cbt and only lasts 2 years. Only with a full licence can you look at 33hp which your restricted to for two years at 25 or below years old. Not sure as for now what the rules are for older than 25. Dan
  2. My 98 contact runs @66:1 (same ratio as nelly1 above) smokes a lot @50:1 I use putoline mx7 or motul as mentioned in the link above, have a read of that, basically find a mixture that suits your riding. maybe start at 50:1 then go from there!?!

just while i have you more experienced folk gathered in one place (allbeit) talking about something else, i thought i might pick your brains...... 250 contact runs beautifully but ive recently noticed a knock its only noticeable when free revving ie in neutral a handfull (not rediculous amount by any means) of revs a small knock like tapping the case with a toffie hammer?? cause for concern?? i cannot comment on its service history as i dont know it..

i run mine @66.1 and will only use putoline mx5 mx7 or motul 710 810 the higher numbers are the better quality of the 2 brands there which i use with the same mixture on my ec300s for racing. Dan.
  5. not a clue!! call kelcoat in leek staffs and speak to Simon.. also check ebay listings (just a punt) that are bike specific the difference is from the 96 bike and 97 bike but i dont know which would be which??.. are they siezed? mine were and looked terrible but freed up quite easily. Dan
  6. i have the same bike 250 contact, and thought i had the same problem, but trust me you will get used to it, its there when you need it. Dan.
  7. the cost thing isnt the only good reason to go for an earlier bike to start off with.. an earlier bike will still do all the things you ask it to do and more, but the point im making and so often gets snubbed off is, the earlier bikes will progress you as a rider quicker.. eg go to the track in a nissan gtr and you can go fast but the car with all its refinements is doing most of the work for you..... so when you decide you enjoy it and can ride comfortably, imagine what a leap up it is on a lighter, more nimble, refined machine..... imo
  8. I have ridden "with" lol, them both in the Tough One, their riding qualities are more than exeptional... one of the reasons ive started trials and....love it.
