  1. Hi Fella, there is one at Clifton Quarry, which I'm sure is the one you mean?
  2. I have a 2012 4RT, that I purchased as new November 2013 (was somebodies spare bike), I will be selling it soon, for a new 4RT, can't wait!! Interesting to read everything here.
  3. I work in the cycle trade, so when I saw Sidi boots at £200, I couldn't believe how cheap they were!! Compared to what you get here... http://www.tweekscycles.com/Product.do?method=view&n=3390&g=361934&p=361950&c=215&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=Base&utm_campaign=Road%20Bike%20Shoes&gclid=CJ6moIq5ob0CFerpwgod8iAAfg
  4. I can't believe how cheap riding trials and associated parts are.... see this !!! http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/shimano-dura-ace-fc7900-chainring/rp-prod38160
  5. Well, I think I started a great thread, with some mega input from everyone, Dan in particular, thank you all. A friend and I only started riding Trials in November, both never ridden motorbikes before, ever! Coming from a strong Mountain bike and BMX background, we have some idea of riding over stuff and off road. I've done around 6 trials now and at the weekend 23/2 we rode our first clubman route ( I thought it would have a novice route, hence turning up!). We both did ok, tackled everything and only had a few 'stunts'! We enjoyed the challenge immensely and I began to think why people don't move up a class, hence post! Thanks to your comments, I have opened my eyes to the 'not so novice novices'! I must say, everyone at every trial have been really helpful, it's a great sport and at the age of 44 I wish I had started it a long time ago. It's thanks to people who encourage beginners, set out 'dead easy' and 'fun' trials, set out novice routes that people like me would probably not 'take' to the sport, find it too difficult and give it a swerve. For now, we are going to continue on the novice route, though will try the clubman routes when we feel like, keep going to trials every week where possible and move up to clubman after spring, hopefully !
  6. So when do you go from Novice to Clubman? There seems to be a lot of talented and skillful novices, who've been trialling for years and seem to clear all sections all day.... Shouldn't they go up a class? Or do they like the glory and fear a challenge?
  7. Fat bars.....lighter, stronger. Known in the cycle trade as a 'no brainer'. Fashion? The BMX industry thrives on fashion, I'm not sure the Trials industry has any :-)
  8. I work in the cycle trade, most downhill and MTB gear has a lot more ventilation and is more breathable than motorbike kit. It also offers protection, if you go for the Downhill gear. I have some AlpineStars downhill 'pants' that have so much ventilation, I can only wear it when it's warmer out!
  9. Had a great day, thank you for the organisation. Looking forward to the results :-)
  10. Looking for wether it is on or not? I guess it's on, see you in the morning!
  11. Hi woody, great reply and advice, thanks. Well we expect to see you before 11 then. I'll be sticking to the easy route for now.
  12. Hi Woody, I and a couple of others from Macc are perhaps going to give it a go, this will be my 2nd trial and a friends first! We are really looking forward to it. Is there an up to date website for your club, or a social site, where more info is posted? Cheers.
