  1. Thats what I am talking' bout. Very nice 3.2R!! ....Dont want to sound too forward, but thats one big sprocket you got there.
  2. Agree'd, no one can beat Honda at their own game. Sherco pretty much had the 3.2 fully sorted with the '08t 10th anniversary which was pretty much the '09 production machine and starting is even not an issue, hot or cold. They should smarten up who'ever was casting the crappy porous cylinder castings if they are gonna pump any more out. The big bore 320 is definitely Not for everyone as it can be a handful for some . I would never purchase a new Sherco 2T with their idiotic practice of using fully sealed main bearings and dont forget about those terrible intake manifolds that wont seal, but I would take a serious look at the 3.2 if it came back without the rear fuel tank/fuel pump frame and those nasty awful formula hydraulics.
  3. Would be super cool to see the 3.2 come back, Awesome bikes if sps carb equipped. Please throw up some pictures if you find them. If Sherco brings it back, do you think they will stick they're beloved fully sealed main bearings that they stick into all the 2T's? Hopefully the Superior bearing grease does not get any of that horrible motor oil in it
  4. That is not the main bearing/ crankshaft your working on there. Remove kickstart lever & remove right gear case to access
  5. No grease left in the fully sealed bearing?? You should have a look at the ''factory fault or designed to fail'' thread....Maybe Sherco is leaving out the main seals now and relying on the seals in the bearings only??
  6. Check your fully sealed main bearings for wear too while your in there
  7. Hm..So they are good quality SKF bearings then, and just some owners problem of water and dirt in motor and corrosion, ethanol blended fuel? Maybe the premix ratio needs to be changed to a little more oil content 60:1 or 50:1? Tiny bit more oil burned but not enough to worry about....not like its a huge enviromental thumb on the nose to the world like the VW diesel thing. Now keep water and crud out of motor and factory can go back to the open main bearings that are a proven design and last a long long time and riders can afford to stick with this brand of bike because they dont have to do expensive motor tear downs all the time, just seems like a bad temporary remedy for something that should'nt be problem if the bike it looked after properly. I like the Sherco brand but will not buy a new one if its got fully sealed bearings.
  8. Very interesting indeed...Fully sealed main bearings in a fairly low performance motor like a trials bike sounds like a poor cheap bandaid by factory for possibly low grade bearings and owners ingesting mud/water etc into motors, it does not protect the conrod bearings at all. Good quality 2t main bearings with quality premix easily last many years in extremely high load mx and chainsaw motors that run pretty much WFO day after day so the open mainbearing concept is not the problem. The companys just need to allow for proper premium grade bearings in proper spec. for load and owners just need to keep filth out of the intake tract. I guess the fully sealed bearings keep initial cost of bike down and visits to dealer service dept. up...just like all the new cars and truck, engineered to be in for servicing more often. No thank you
  9. Yes, Not a huge deal to weld up frame. Kinda makes one seriously wonder about the condition of the rest of the bike when the frame is busted up so badly and not told about it??
  10. Be cautious with most of the factory replacement decals as I've purchased many for several of my different Sherco's and the problem is that the adhesives do not stick worth crap and are pretty much useless unless you try glue on with some other form of glue. The problem is that the adhesive on them has spoiled with age:-( and no it is not just that the fender has not been degreased properly with proper solvent etc.... I believe there is a ''new style'' set to fit the '06-09's with better adhesion properties, try splatshop or local dealer to see if they can get them. Good luck
  11. Try'' Mountain motorcycles '' in B.C for parts, they may have stuff for you, were original importers of brand
  12. Might want to look into a TRP, got one on one of my Bikes and its really nice. It mounts with the rod down so might want to rig up a little rubber deflector flap to keep rocks out .
  13. Vanman,Okay your '09 will have the sps carb, nice, make sure your valve clearance's are not too tight. Your pilot should be a 42 or 45 and your main should be a 128. Your mixture screw should be out 1/2 turn and dont set your tick over too low, you should have to start with choke when cold. Dont give any throttle to start, hot or cold...only giver throttle open after you take a very nasty spill and roll around off hill and flood it badly. Oh..and dont stab at kick start lever...give it a good solid boot:-) Hope this helps you out.
  14. Vanman, what year is yours? The ideal fix is to update to the fully sorted update carb first offered on the '08 10th anniversary model and '09's. Its a modded PWK 28 called the Sherco SPS carb, a regular pwk can be converted with parts from Chris or Ryan, etc if your VERY handy in the shop. Dont mess with other carbs unless you want to waste your time and money and still not fully sort it. Your 3.2's can be amazing too
  15. The 3.2's are awesome Bikes. Started on an '05 which was a little finicky at first but well worth it. Now have a 10th anniversary and a '08 with SPS upgrade and both work flawlessly, wish they still made them. You cant treat them like a 2t, Sounds like the guy you bough it off had no problem starting so bike is probably jetted and set up properly. Leave throttle closed and give a STRONG kick (dont jab at lever) Possibly get previous owner to give orientation run down if local.
