  1. My 2006 Gas Gas TXT 250 Pro have been standing unused for the last 2 or 3 years. I have not tried to start the bike since it is stored down the basement. So when the engine is not running and i put it in gear and pull the clutch handle it is like the clutch is not engaged at all. Note that clutch lever have normal resistance when pulled and do feel okay Will i have to bleed the clutch or will the clutch start to operate like normal after i have used the bike a little? Before any writes that it is only to take it outside and check it the bike the bike is parked for the winter and i would also have to move hole lot of stuff to get the bike outside Another thing i wish was better is the short travel of the kickstart on the Gas Gas TXT bikes and especially on my 2005 TXT 125 Pro
  2. I have a question about the reed valve as shown on the first picture for my 2005 Gas Gas TXT 125 Pro and my 2006 Gas Gas TXT 250 Pro On the top picture you see the reed valve i am wondering about and on the picture furthest down you see how the air box is on my TXT Pro bikes On my 2 bikes there looks to be no reed valve at all since the air box (everything behind the carburetors is like on picture 2 with no reed valve between the carb and air box Is this correct? Also both bikes have Dellorto PHBL carburetors and i wonder if these carbs are lousy quality carbs?
  3. The Gas Gas importer here in my country could not get hold of the pins that sit on the end of the wires that goes to the stator harness CDI box connector but i had to get the pins with wires at VW Thats not a big plus in my book for the Gas Gas importer
  4. That is what i always do on my bikes ☺️☺️
  5. Updated. No reply are needed since i have straightened the pin that was bent. No way that the bike came like that from factory with a pin in the CDi box bent so it "hooks" up with the pin in front of it and goes to an empty slot in the CDI connector on the stator harness. Now after i straighten the pin it goes to the orange wire on the CDI connector on the stator harness Not easy to see which pin was bent on the CDI box
  6. Here is a picture showing where the bent "pin" sit in the connector now that it is bent.See the picture 4 below: The picture have red arrows and text on it If the "pin" was straight like all other "pins" it would connect to the orange wire behind the empty slot in the connector Here is a picture of a CDI box i received from TrialsBreakersUK No bent pins. But the "pins" in this box looks to be round while on the CDI box on my bike the "pins" are flat All the letters and digits is identical except the last 4 letters and digits to the CDI box with the bent "pin" on my bike
  7. Also on Dellorto PHBL 26 carbs i watched a film by Jim Snell saying that the fuel screw is supposed to after it is screwed all the way in until it turns no more you are supposed to turn it out (anti clockwise) 3 and a half turn... I checked this on my 2005 Gas Gas TXT 125 Pro and that was only turned out 2 and a half turn The film by Jim Snell explains a lot about the Dellorto PHBL 26 carburetor. To watch the film search youtube for: Jim Snell - USA - TIPS FOR THE PHBL26 DELLORTO TRIALS CARBURETOR If i put the link to the film here the film will show on here in this ppost and i am not sure if that is allowed?
  8. The new yellow wires is much longer than the original white wire with a blue stripe and the black wire with a white stripe. The original wires wasonly about a 1,5 inch long so there was a lot of tension on these 2 wires So after you have put the CDI box on to the connector there will be no tension on the wires like it was on the original white wire with a blue stripe and the black wire with a white stripe The reason the white wire with a blue stripe and the black wire with a white stripe broke was because they was so short that when the CDI box was put on there was a lot of tension on the wires and if you are not careful they will break And the previous owner of my bike was not careful so that is why they broke
  9. I was checking the spark on my 2005 Gas Gas TXT 125 Pro when i noticed that 2 wires on the connector for the CDI box on the stator harness was almost broken off. The wires was only hanging by 1 single strand in the wire each so that explains that i did not have a spark at each stroke of the kick panel I replaced the 2 broken wires with new ones that have the "end pin" that goes down inside the stator harness connector for the CDI box But when i looked inside the "connector" on the CDI box i can see that one of the "pins" is bent so it goes to an empty place in the connector on the stator harness. See picture 1 If the bent "pin" was not bent it would go to the orange wire on the stator harness connector for the CDI box. See picture 2. This picture also shows the white wire with a blue stripe and a black wire with a white stripe that was broken off but this is repaired The blue seal and orange end cap that usually sit inside the CDI box connector on the stator harness was not present on my bike. Someone have taken off the blue seal and end cap. See picture 3 That they have taken off the blue seal and orange end cap i think makes it more easy to bend a "pin" when putting the CDI box and connector back together TrialsBreakersUK sent me a picture of a CDI box for a 2005 Gas Gas TXT 125 Pro and the CDI box they sent a picture of have only straight "pins". No bent pins. Checking the number on TrialsBreakersUK I have the identical numbers except the last 4 letters and digits. The last 4 letters and digits on my CDI box ends with 4K08. On the CDI box from TrialsBreakersUK the 4 last letters and digits ends with 5D26 The bent "pin" and the last for letters and digits is the only difference of the CDI box on my bike and the picture of the CDi box from TrialsBreakersUK Do any here know if the bent "pin" in the CDI box is supposed to be bent like it is, or do you think the "pin" have been bent by accident? It must be more easy to bend the "pin" by mistace since the blue seal and orange end cap is missing and that makes room for more play so it is more easy to bend any of the "pins" on the stator harness Hope any members here can help me out here Picture 1. Bent "pin inside the CDI box. Is this supposed to be like this or is it bent by accident? Picture 2. The bent "pin" would connect to the orange wire if the "pin" was not bent. Now that the "pin" is bent it would sit in a empty slot next to the black wire with a red stripe in front Picture 3. The blue seal and orange end cap on the CDI box connector on the stator harness
  10. There are no soldering needed after i replaced the wires. The new yellow wires with the "connector pins" on each end fit in the CDI box connector so you only have to pull out the 2 broken wires with "pins" in the end that sit inside the CDI box connector and replace them with the yellow ones from VW I have already replaced the broken wires. I pulled out the 2 "pins" that the 2 broken wires with the crimped on "pins" from the CDI box copnnector and replaced them with the new yellow wires fom VW After i replaced the brooken wires in the CDI box connector i have now a even spark on the spark plug for every stroke of the kick starter (done by hand just to check the spark) New yellow wire with the "pin" to the left and the old originak broken off wire with the "pin" to the right
  11. So the Dellorto PHBL carbs are the reason why they are so hard to start? What about trying to start it in gear down a steep hill?
  12. I am posting this in case any other here on the forum have the same problem I had 2 broken wires on the CDI connector on one of my bikes and off course the wires where broken almost down inside the CDI box connector (see the picture) I was not able to find identical "connector pins" that sit on each wire inside the CDI box connector but i found "connector pins" that can be used to repair this problem VAG or VW have the "connector pins" with the yellow wires and they can be used on the cdi box connector The picture below shows the CDI connector on my 2005 Gas Gas TXT Pro with 2 broken wires. The white wire with a blue stripe(see red arrow)goes to the coil The black wire with a white stripe(see blue arrow) goes to ground on the coil bracket The picture at the bottom with the yellow wire shows the "connector pins" that you can buy at VW. They are a little pricey but the alternative is to buy a new stator with harness i think..
  13. I have just cleaned the carburetor on my 2005 Gas Gas TXT 125 pro and did not notice the "groove" in the needle valve when i took it off the carburetor. i am pretty sure it does not matter which way the "groove" in the neddle points to but i rather ask my fellow members here at the forum. So must the "groove" in the needle valve point towards a spesific direction? The carburetor had quite a lot of corrosion/green stuff inside because of the needle lifter and the 2 floats. Checked the floats for any holes but the floats are the white plastic type and you can see if any fuel is inside the floats. I did install to floats the correct way with the "tip" on each of the floats down at the bottom of the metal tank I also bought a "gasket kit" which contains of 1 large O ring where i have no idea where it goes (the O ring is to small for the metal tank and to large for the carb cover) and 2 washers for the carburetor cover. That is all that was in the bag...
  14. Thinking of the fact that most of the engine is the same on the TXT Pro series i wonder if i can fit a 280 cylinder and piston on my 2006 Gas Gas TXT 250 Pro? Reading in the owners manual/parts list for my 1998 TXT 321 cc it looks like parts are the same on the 125 cc and up to the 200 cc use the same parts except for the cylinder and piston off course The 250 cc, 270 cc and 321 cc also use the same parts according to the owners manual/parts list
  15. The ready mixed coolant on the pictures is just for showing the GRO and Valvoline coolant. I never buy ready mixed coolant since i always buy consentrate and mix it 50 coolant water ant 50 percent water ☺️ ☺️
  16. I wonder which brand of coolant my fellow members here on the forum use on their Gas Gas trial bikes? I see that my local Gas Gas parts supplier use GRO ready mixed coolant on the picture below. Since i have coolant in the garage for my all aluminum engine on my Mercedes SL, R230 (the coolant have a Mercedes part number) and also another type of Valvoline coolant for my Blazer ZR2 meant for aluminium engines i wonder if i can use these types of coolants? I just checked and found the Valvoline Max Life coolant which is the typhical red coolant ment for aluminum heads -- engines so can i use this coolant? Thinking of the coolant for an aluminum engine for a car would be the same as the engine on a motorbike? What kind of coolant do you suggest i use on my bike?
  17. II said in another thread here on the forum that my 2005 TXT 125 Pro have been standing unused for a long time. I have drained out the old fuel of the fuel tank and carburetor. Put in fresh 2% mix fuel I have cleaned the air filter box, washed, dried and oiled the air filter and installed a new NGK BPR5ES spark plug Earlier today i tried to start the bike. The first thing i did was to check tthe spark and the spark looks good I opened the fuel tap, put on the choke and stepped on the kick start lever for about 30 times with no other result that the kick start seemed to stop/lock up like the piston stuck I put the bike in gear and pushed i forward and tried the kick start again and everything is working as it is supposed to So, not to have the piston travel up and down the cylinder all dry i checked the spark plug to see if there was any fuel at all on the spark plug The spark plug was as dry as it was when i first took it out from the box it came in when i bought it so i will have to open up the carburetor I will order a new gasket kit for the Dellorto PHBL26BS carburetor before i start to check and clean it Any here that have any advices?
  18. I only spayed oil on the the outtside of the filter but i am sure that is more than enough oil. The spray can with filter oil did not spray like a can of spray paint does but more like the spray can of oil was taking a "leak"
  19. I have cleaned the air filter on my 05 Gas Gas TXT 125 Pro and i use air filter Putoline oil in a spray can I was thinking of only spraying oil on the outside of the air filter and put on a little grease on the end of the filter for a proper seal I did a search on the net where one did soak the hole foam air filter in a bucket of oil.Note that this was done at a trial/enduro bike shop That must be to much oil in tne filter even if you push out most og it? My question is when using air filter oil on a spray can, do you only spray oil on the outside of the filter or fo you also oile the inside og the filter?
  20. Hi I have changed the brake fluid, i have had out the air filter and cleaned the air box but not yet the air fiilter. The filter is not that dirty but after cleaning the air box i for sure will.clean the filter as well. After i cleaned the chain and put on new chain grease. I have lubed all places that needs some grease/lubrication. I have drained the carb for old fuel and filled on a about 1m5 liters of new fuel mix I am just using the bike for fun so the tires will not be replaced the first 2 months If i replace the coolant on the bike can i use the anti freeze i use on a couple of my cars? The anti freeze coolant is original Mercedes coolant for aluminum engines so i guess i can use that
  21. Check thhe link below. I can not find the 2010 Gas Gas Boy but i find manuals for the 2008 Gas Gas TXT Rookie 80 so perhaps you can use the wiring dioagram for this bike? Have a check at the Gas Gas manuals at the link: https://gasgas.com/en/manuals?c=trialandy=
  22. My 2005 Gas Gas TXT 125 Pro have been standing in the basement unused for a long time. I have replaced the petrol with fresh 2% fuel, greased all "grease" points, cleaned the chain (that was really dirty) and off course cleaned the bike. There is one thing on these bikes that bothers me and that is the fact that the travel of the kick start is so short and the pedal also stops in the foot peg. on this TXT 125 pro. I have not cleaned the air filter so i will clean the air filter and respray it with the ptoper "oil" and also put in a new NGK BPR5ES spark plug Anything i have not thought of? I will off course change the oil but i thought i would run the bike up to temperature before changing the oll Also note the fuel tap instructions from the Owners Manual. It shows 2 different ways of working the fuel tap which is kind of strange. Perhaps the bike came with 2 different types of fuel taps?
  23. sirdabalot. Whatkind of glue do you suggest? What about using car body glue used by car repair shops? Maybe thread locker even if there are no threads there
  24. Thanks for all good advices. I thought i better ask instead of just trying to tap the breather tube into the engine cover I used a little hammer and gently tapped the breather tube in place Here is a picture of the now, not anymore missing breather tube on the left side engine cover
  25. I have already used anti seize on all of the spoke nuts so the anti seize have been on there for weeks I spoke to a person at the Gas Gas bikes and parts stor and he told me just to loosen the spokes close to the spokes i am going to replace But i see here that i might have to take off some of the spokes. Thanks a lot for helping me out here :-)
