  1. Been a long time since I've been in here. I spend most of my time on a couple of other forums and kind of forget about this one. Decided to part my enduro bike for a while and just concentrate on trials. We have a great trials only park here in BC called IOCO. Been riding there now a few times, bought a seasons pass and have hooked up with a few riders to learn the area. Last ride I returned to my old stomping grounds to attempt a set of hill climbs with my new found skills and had a great ride. Sadly I'm not in the greatest shape anymore, the air quality here is awful with all the forest fires burning here in BC and the old asthma kicked the hell out of me, but I still had a great run. Here's a video, should be enough to make the real trials riders here laugh and entertain those who are just trying to get better like me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFfm42yiUkI
  2. Mine has been amazing, love it and so will you. Edit: Sorry mine is actually the factory 300 2015 but essentially the same bike.
  3. I'm real sorry to hear about the problems that some have had but mine is amazing, this bike rocks and has been trouble free. I've even ridden it like an enduro bike for the most part in fairly extreme country without issue. Couldn't be happier with the bike. Not sure if the bikes that come into Canada are different in any way shape or form but non of the guys I know who also bought them have had any real issues either. Can't help but think that the bikes spoken of here with issues might have come off an assembly line together and all with the same problem. A problem that had been fixed before or occurred after we got ours.
  4. Been riding the hell out of this bike now for several months and I'm seriously impressed with it in most every way. Seems the only time I bother taking my video camera (GoPro) along is when I go for a mountain ride and that ends up being more of a tough enduro ride than a trials day. So sorry if I don't post up more trials type videos. The other day it was real wet and mucky as we'd just had several days of intense rain. The trails turned to rivers and the puddles were small lakes. Sadly my GoPro ran out of gas at the same time the bike did but as I did have spare gas, I didn't have my spare battery's. The trails we rode on after the video ends were crazy for mud and water. This bike has its air box up front with the intake just behind the steering column. I was going through water so deep that if it wasn't for the spare gas tank on the bars deflecting the water I would have drown the bike. This thing handles the nastiest of terrain better than any bike I've ever been on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIljfSCDugs
  5. Boy it sure is quiet in this forum. I'm used to seeing hundreds of new posts everyday on sites like TT. Guess trials just isn't as big as it should be.
  6. I'm contemplating going +1 on the front as well. 1st is pretty much useless you're wanting to ride figure 8's real slow all day IMO. This bike has tons of torque and could benefit from some taller gears. I ride most things in 3rd, 2nd revs out way to quick and 4th is OK but slow on trails. 5th unfortunately will only be good for downhill on a highway though once a +1 happens though as its real high.
  7. Thanks guys, I'll dig into it tonight or in the morning and see what I can find.
  8. Ha ha ha I had that panic after the 1st ride. Discovered the floating disk issue right away. This is in fact inside the fork. I can make the noise even if avoiding the brake and pushing the wheel against the wall. The reason I'm concerned is because years ago I had a BUELL XB12SCG street bike with a similar noise. They never did figure it out, just replaced the forks. Thanks for your reply though.
  9. Hi, I've noticed that lately my forks have been making a clicking noise when fully depressed. I'm not sure now if it did this since new but I do not think so. They work very well, no oil leaks, no damage etc. I haven't even done any serious drops or jumps with the bike. I am not a typical 150lb rider but a 200 lb guy coming from an extreme Enduro background. Most of my riding so far with this bike would be more Enduro with alot of trials type section. So with all that being said I don't believe I've abused the bike in any way to cause a problem. Anyone have any suggestions as to what I might be hearing when pushing down hard on the forks?
  10. I've got allot of the same issue, I have RMR suspension in BC looking in to what they can do for me. I have the Factory edition with an Ohlins rear shock and TECH 39mm Aluminum forks. They have contacted Ohlins but have not heard back from them as yet. Last time I talked to they they were having a tough time getting answers. Like "copemech" mentioned http://www.splatshop.co.uk/ohlins-rear-shock-absorber.htmlhas information on the rear shock, I have not looked any further to see what they have for forks.
  11. So I have a couple new videos but again they may only appeal to those of you who are not "die hard" trials riders. What I do still to this point is mostly extreme enduro and am just now doing it with this bike instead of my Husaberg TE300. As I gain more confidence I will venture to some of the many trials only areas that are near me but for right now I'd rather drive 15 minutes and ride my own pace than drive an hour to learn that I have so much to learn. I don't record all the hours I spend practising, riding figure 8's as slow as I can, balancing, trying to slow wheelie and so on, just turn the camera on when I head to the mountains. A video from last Friday, nothing to crazy but some good footage. Just kept it short this time, 10 minutes. https://youtu.be/H_06-zYOk3I Here's a video from my Sunday ride. Decided to just ride and cover some ground instead of worrying about going real slow or trying obstacles several times until I got it right. This was an all out enduro ride on a tiny little bike with no damn seat. https://youtu.be/SPjajOYa5Us
  12. Coming from years of riding different kinds of bikes, all of which did not have them, I can honestly say I quite like having it. Now that I'm used to it being there I never have an issue stopping the bike or any of the above issues either. Just mount it close enough to the grip where you can flick it off if needed. I would think there could be a way to modify or add something to the top of the magnet so that you could flip the little bugger off if needed with your thumb like a kill switch if wanted to. I could suggest a devise that would give you leverage and would simulate the action of a push button therefore lifting the magnet off the switch. Sure wouldn't be that hard to invent and from what I've seen of this sport I cannot imagine why you'd want to ride one of these things without one. There is no way you're going to get to that manual kill switch in time when you have to get off in a hurry. No way I'm going to stand at the bottom of a hill or rock and watch my bike hung up on the top, running at 6000RPM upside down until it blows up.
  13. Didn't get to ride this weekend but did manage to play with the bike tonight for a couple hours. Just riding in circles, practising balance techniques, slow wheelies.....things are real slow to happen for this old dog. The balance thing is a real struggle. I've watched so many training videos on this but it is just so much harder than it looks. Took some advice from more experienced riders and moved my bars forward and levers up. So far so good, hurts the hands a bit but I think I can deal with it. I'll see what it is like on my next ride. Going to try and ride after work this week, maybe even a play hooky (miss a day of work) and go ride to make up for not riding all weekend due to horrible weather and way too many chores.
  14. Hello Gents, my wife is pressuring me, or at least trying to, into moving to Wales for awhile (she is Welsh and I'm Scottish but our families have been in Canada for several generations). We currently live in British Columbia, Canada but she has been going over to Wales to teach Collage field school for a couple years and now she's doing her PHD at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David which will take her back there a few more times over the next few years. Next year I'm going to tag along and ride around Wales on 2 wheels to get a taste of the place. I'd love to bring my new Sherco and ride there. 2 years ago we flew over and rode around Ireland for a week on a BMW1200GS and toured Scotland for another. I very much loved the country side and can't wait to come back. Not sure how long I could put up with the miserable weather though. Here in BC we get allot of rain and the temps never usually get over 26C but wow, you guys don't seem hardly ever get to see the sun. Anyway, just wanted to drop in and say hello............
  15. Outstanding, you're someone to look up to. Hope you have a great time.
