    Budget Trials Build

So I´m still worried about the wires... The engine came with a motoplat CDI but it´s shouldn´t be there + I have six cables coming from the engine, can´t find a diagram that maches all the above. Had to grind down a nut for the flywheel because couldn´t get a M12x1.25 that would fit a 17mm spanner, but all in all, the engine is togeher with new gaskets but the kickstarter doesn´t clear the frame Wiring black and blue cable to a coil didn´t give me any spark yet so will spend some time googling this ignition system.

Decided to go with thread lock insted of tab washers and made a multitool to tighten all three nuts. Also have a chain, fuel-filter and hose, hopefully all the tubing for subframe and engine mounts so all I need is enough time to button up the engine and hopefully the coil I have will work.

Yep, boughed just the chain, I can always make it shorter and I already have a talon 11tooth in the front, so not too worried about it now!

Can anybody help with the wiring. The wires coming out from my engine are black, grey, yellow and green but the manual has black, blue, brown, green...

Wasn´t as bad as I expected, don´t know yet if I´m missing anything but a days work got everything cleaned. Lot´s of petrol and brake cleaner The footpeg clears the chain now, had to file it by hand and touring that I started thinking about the gearing, there´s a 53 tooth ring at the back but the manual says 40, I´m afraid it will be waay too big since the engine is from a trials bike and the gears are pretty close as well...

Okay, so the carb is cleaned and jets are the correct size, hopefully this won´t be a problem. Had to flatten the engine mount and almost got the footpeg fitted so it doesn´t get in the way of the chain, hopefully I can finish it tomorrow and I´d like to clean up the engine and start putting it together. I have an old russian ignition coil (6V) will see if it works with motoplat or not.

Place is starting to take shape with the bike... today I got a Telwin, going to need a welder for the engine mounts and rear subframe and pretty sure it won´t end there. Just need a new balloon since the one I had (40L CO2) doesn´t meet euro standards anymore , leaning towards a mix of Argon and CO2. The front brakes are also finished and working like a charm, fitment is perfect!

Yeah, exactly! Got to make do with what you got It will definetly come, now that I have my own place I´m getting more and more tools all the time. Sh*t, of course, how stupid of me to forget that it´s aluminum, that´s why I didn´t weld it in the first place in my own place. Then a thorough washing will have to do, rinse and repeat!

I was planning to but don´t have a pulley for it, so gonna but a magnet in the sump and wash it couple times.

Engine is a Beta TR32 - 240cc, bought it off ebay UK and supposedly it ran... The holes are from lack of tools from my last place waaay back. I had to narrow down the rear mounts and only had an angle grinder for the job. If the liquid metal starts leaking I´ll take it to my friend for a weld.

Bought a compressor today and started with sealing the holes in the engine, will see if this will hold, there sholdn´t be too much pressure. Finished the front caliper mount, but had to thread it at my work because it´s a pain without a vice, should get to see the fitment tomorrow!

Yep and maybe some wamth will also help, in my garage there´s 5℃, so gonne take the weels to the workplace and keep them inside overnight. Pretty sure warmth, lots of soap and a compressor will do the trick Atleast today was productive, got the rear brake sorted, it needed some mods for the caliper hanger and caliper itself. Too many spacers! The front needed also some new spacers, somehow it was not exactly in the middle but after the adjustment the disc bolts started sraping the forks, nothing a little grindig won´t fix Removed 7mm of aluminium from the caliper mounting points and cleaned the caliper + master cyclinder. It was pretty nasty but now filled with new fluid and bleed, works fine, though the line is a bit long for this setup, but it´s only a cosmetical problem so something for the future. Made a template for the new hanger, which will be 6mm thick and have four threaded holes and this will finish up the front brakes!

Yep, I am having trouble getting it to pop on there, got it off and a new tube in, the second time around was WAY easier!!! I started thinking about the fitment problem with the rim today aswell and I´m gonna try again with a compressor but 3 bars didn´t change much. So gonna try to look for a tubed tyre second hand but since trials is still pretty small in Estonia it might be complicated. Already started on the rear brake system and will make a template for the front. Also the right peg fixing is getting in the way of the chain

Believe me, done a fair amount of changes and watched all the videos just for touch up but the tyres are a bit too old and gone hard. I´ll try to get the tube replaced tomorrow and will keep the locks just trying to be as gentle as possible, Since the tyre is meant to be on a tubeless setup the bead might be also just a tad harder to get on there.

Okay, so an importen question, do I really need the rim locks? The rear wheel has two and the tyre is already a pain in the ass to get on, today got it , with a proper tyre lever and soap BUT also pinched the tube so it ran out in a minute or two. I know that I´m going to be running more on the low side of the pressure so they should be important...

Finaly something is happening Today I started with the tyres, put on a new rimtape and inners + used Dunlop D803´s Although forgot the soap and didn´t really have the right tools so one side of the rear tyre still needs some elbow grease and the front needs soap so it would sit nicely in the groove. There isn´t really that much room to work now that everything is shoved in but will have to do, as soon as the tyres are done I´ll start with the brakes and cleaning the engine parts, since it´s halfway taken apart and been standing like that for too many years.

Place is almost ready for the toys The wiring and fusebox were in an awful state but luckily didn´t die in the progress of replacing it! The ceiling is in a pretty bad shape(water driping from four places) but winter is coming and it will have to wait till spring, it´s also a medow roof or what ever you call it, so a bit more complicated on the repairing part. That´s why the walls are also very discolored, the concrete is damp and it reacts in different ways. I´ll try to get the air moving and hopefully the second layer will look better.

Thanks, would be awesome but I live all the way in Estonia, would be even happy to pay for it but I´m afraid it´s goint to be more exspensive then geting them from here... Yes, it´s been almost 7 years since I owned one

ALL IS NOT LOST!!! So today I acquired a garage, I´ve been looking for almost 2 years and it´s finaly happening. Still a little messy and a long ways from anything else then a storage unit but try to work on it as much as possible. Underground unit that hasn´t really been used for 5 years or longer, I´m worried that the damp air will be my biggest worry but we´ll see, otherwise the plan is to get it cleaned out and painted to help with the lights that will be added. Then I can move in
  21. Nice video! Good cinematography, it was a pleasure to watch.
  22. Nice, that´s how you transport a bike! Good luck with the build, looking forward to it.

Hey, unfortunately none what so ever, been really busy with work and it´s a Murphy, as soon as I´m free, my friend isn´t. But have been thinking about an engine swap, just because on spare parts, even if I do get that one running I might run into a problem really soon and for that it would be good to have a more popular/modern engine.
