  1. Dave, I'm running out of excuses for not getting it finished. It's probably 99 per cent complete and just awaiting final cut and production run. I've been just so busy this year with both home and work life. I must get it done soon. I'll obviously lye folks know as soon as it's complete and available.

To those who've already send orders. you'll get yours first.

  2. Any gas gas dealer or Gas Gas UK themselves should be able to help. I've not heard of problems getting parts yet for a 1990 bike. Please try and use Trials Central sponsors, you may even get a discount.

  3. Packed up the van to take my 11-year-old for a ride.

It's an involve process as I keep all my band equipment in the van.

We get out to our little local spot and after about 15 minutes, he gets a flat front tire.

Do you think I remembered to bring a patch kit?

    Of course not.

We pack up both bikes and go home.

I fix the tube and am too lazy to get some soapy water to make everything nice and slippery so I pinch the tube.

    Totally beginner mistake...so I'm p****d off.

Take it apart and patch the hole I made.

Put it back together and pump it up.

The kid doesn't want to go back out riding.

I walk past the bike a little later...tire is flat.

I lose it and start kicking stuff.

    Walk away.

Go back later, take the wheel off for the 3rd time, take the tube out and pump it up.

    No hole to be found.

Fill a bucket and dunk it in.

    No bubbles.

Check it this morning before work...still plenty of air in it.

    WTF

Sometimes ya just can't get it right even when you get it right!

You didn't spit test the valve when you blew it up the first time did ye?

  4. I made a three bike one a few years back and the only issue is I never got round to properly rust protecting it.

Its a just a simple pair of light (250KG I think)independant suspension units mounted on a flat triangular trailer with another upright triangular frame that the bash plates site on. A strap across the seat is all that's needed. It's super light and can be easily stood on end for storage. Simples.

  5. I've been so busy since getting back from the event I just not had time to edit. I'm busy at work and have been back in fort William every weekend since the SSDT. I really need to get on with it. Keep an eye out here.

  6. I can't help saying this but I actually think it look the part. Could be one of the better looking bike. As Gizza says if it rides well and is priced right they will sell looking like that.

  7. I don't want to be too negative but since we're on an open forum and the organisers probably want to hear what everone thinks here goes.

This was the best SSDT I've been to in almost every respect. The idea of a central hub in the west end carpark was great and given time could turn in to the place to be in the evenings. The running of the trial, the sections and even the weather were all great. The extra stuff on Sunday with the old bikes and the like were great but it's actually Sunday that I do have a complaint about.

The parade saw bigger crouds than I've ever see. Warm sunshine saw people 5 or six deep the entire length of the main street. Unfortunatly the parade was controlled to a dribble of bikes over a long time as someone was stopping and interviewing the riders at the square. This is not a bad idea on its own but concider that only the few hundred people near the square could here the interviews or even know they were happening. This is because there were only loudspeakers in the square. The thousands of others further up and down just looked confused and eventually bored of seeing one or two bikes with large gaps between them. The crowd soon started wondering off (me included). Great shame but easily cured for next year.
