  1. Same here!

    Best option IMO is France.

will be cheaper, more accessible and easier to go to France and they have a 2 day event there.

Been to French rounds before and they are awesome with whole villages/towns closing down and fully welcoming the trials circus with open arms - cant see that happening in the UK

If not you could look at making a holiday out of Spain and Andorra (think dates on front page must be wrong and Andorra is 26th June) by flying to Madrid and driving to trial (approx 150km) then fly from Madrid to Girona and drive to Andorra.

Or alternatively just do Andorra (fly to Girona then drive 150km ish to Andorra) as they again totally throw the village/town at the event and run ace events.

Even the Italian round is only 130ish km from Milan Airport although I've never been to an Italian round but again they look very well supported. I've actually driven from UK to Monza for F1 and its an AMAZING drive through France and Switzerland. Took about 15 hours to get from Calais to Milan and the Italian round is not as far as Milan!

Not sure I get your point but if it's distance from the airport to the venue the why not fly to Inverness and drive from there? It's about 100Km. You've also obviously never been to Fort William before. The whole town does welcome this trial and other trials.

  2. Gutted to be missing it again this year. I do love Craiglash even better with the wee bit of burn thrown in. I'm downhilling again at Innerleithen again.

Remember the practice/training day at Tillyfourie the following weekend too. Donald, it would be good to see you out on the bike.

  3. The fan is most likely on it's way out. They are pretty well sealed so lubricating is very difficult. In fact I've never managed. Shame it's not so well seal that water can't get in in the first place as that's what's knackered it most likely. You'll know when it fails as the screeching will stop.

  4. I'd also add the fact that you can just turn up on the day and ride, as opposed to some SACU events where you have to post off entries and need to be in "x" amount of days in advance. On the what riders want, and I only speak for myself and maybe a couple other of my riding buddies, just to turn up and have a day out on the bike, nothing too hard, nothing that we won't enjoy, afterall some of us are self employed, and need to get up for work the following day.

Why not come up to Aberdeen and ride some of the club trials? They are pay on the day and have a class to suit everyone. Only the intermediate and expert are at all tough.

  5. The SACU is the ACU. Scotland is just a ACU centre.

Why it has a different name, offices, fee system and the likes i don't know. I'm going to make myself unpopular here but I do question what membership of the SACU/ACU actually bring me other than hastle and cost. I've not known any one claim the insurance it provides and maybe it's great but knowing insurance companies it'll be nothing special. As it happened I have Personal cover that would support me so it's only 3rd party cover that's being added by the organisation. I could find public liability insurance for my local club members at less than

  6. I have experienced a similar noise a couple of times on my gassers and on the first occasion did as you are doing. It made no difference and turned out to just be pinking due to poor carburetion. The second time it was a different bike but I was sure the little end had gone. I spent a good few hours cleaning the carb and setting it up again and the noise disappeared. I hope you haven't wasted a lot of time on this only to find as I did that it's just setup. It was far worse when hot and it was overheating too as it

The noise is so convincingly mechanical it

  7. I will never ever slag off Beta, In my opinion They're the best qualiy bike made, & best all round bike & absolutly love mine.

I bet you would have said that when you had the Raga too though. That's my point.

If this or your next Beta starts causing you problems you may change tune and start slagging off Beta. All bikes have problems at times and all I'm saying is that you've gone out of your way to slag GG because one of your bikes hit trouble. It's fine to share this experiance but not to slag off the brand for ever because of it.

I've ridden GG for many years and had very few problems. Most that I have had have been my own fault. I had a techno many years ago and it was nothing but trouble. I still look at Beta and all the others when I'm changing bike though. Doesn't do to be blinkered in this game.

  8. youthy. You may not have realised but our answerphone messages sometimes don't get to us at GGUK, I ALWAYS try to ring back when possible but sometimes the customer rings back before I get chance to...

As for your clutch pack we recieved it in the post thursday/possibly friday and I measured it, thinned it down and sent it back to you as soon as we could, please let us know if you have any other problems with it!

As for e-mails I answer EVERY one, admittedly its sometimes a day or so before I get to them!!

As for you Ben, I find that quite amazing  as I can remember sorting your problem out after numerous phone calls!!!!...

As far as I'm concerned I will keep reading your posts but this is my ONLY reply.

    "Factory Kev"

Well done Kev for getting in here and telling it like it is. Good to see the importer giving direct feedback. Personally I've always found everyone at GGUK to be very helpful. I think Benbeta23 (who was until recently gasgasben) needs to stop slaging off other bikes just because he doesn't ride one. So it will be OssaBen and beta will be **** too.

  9. I can't remember the TXT guard mount very well but seem to remember that it's part of the air box/seat unit. If broken the whole unit needed replacing unless you fabricated something to screw or rivet on to take the nose of the rear guard. If however it's just the bracket on the guard itself I do remember them as just being a steel bracket on the guard. Replacing the guard would renew that bit.

Someone with a TXT or a better memory than me. please help.
