  1. who are you riding with at the club? i am up in powell river mostly but anyone at the club will give you a hand. it's a great all ages sport you'll have no probs meeting similar ability riders. one good guy is burt 889 1750. have fun /
  2. i went from a mono yam to a 98 mont 315. i found a big difference in the two, the mont is just better. the yam is definately tuffer though. i've ridden a few new bike too, the 315 feels dated mostly in the brakes and suspension but the 315 has lots of power with decent clutch control, not explosive but well planted and tractable. all in all a nice bike if you can find a well maintained one its a plus.
  3. i agree also 80-1 good.
  4. thanks for the invite we'll all be there. jer
  5. i was ready to light myself on fire until my wife suggested; hang fr wheel up from ceiling, rotate mc, and bleed using clear tube method (clean). worked great on my monty but i havn't found a blond assistant to help me lift my goldwing!
  6. i have the same bike and had the same problem. i did exactly what was said above, replaced the metal plates with after market ones, put in a good oil, and filed down all the grooves on the leading edge of the basket. i also would recommend bleeding the system WELL, and measuring to see if there is much slop between the push rod and the presure plate. it needs some clearance but not lots, you can add a thicker shim. make shure the presure plate is coming out evenly, if it isn't, change your springs. nice bike when sorted have fun. jer (don't over tork the presure plate)
  7. hey joostio looking forward to having you guys over here for a ride. we want to head that way too most likely in the summer some time. most of our riding is in "sections", one to the next, but also have some great trails. we had 12 or so guys up from vic last year.
  8. not so quiet now heading home 1-1 from the montesa centre.
  9. well said steve! but i would rather be playing toronto than anahiem.
  10. hey this is a trials page not hockey. but it's nice to see us hosers on top eh? (too bad about calgary)
  11. Hey i have a mont and also had trouble with air. Shops recommended opening the fitting at the calipper or they use a pump and push the fluid in from the calliper up to the m.c. On mine no amount of bleeding seemed to work on my fr. brake or on my clutch which had drag. I ended up hanging my bike from the ceiling of the garage rotating the m.c. on the bar so it was level and bleeding that way. It worked great the brake. I hung up the front of the bike the clutch i hung up the back. Strong brakes now and no clutch drag! Like i said no amount of bleeding worked for me, i tried every which way but that worked great the first time and the best thing is it was my wifes idea.
  12. thanks for the info. with the help of the local pro (turner5spot) we got it running sweet again.
