Thanks, We did empty the forks as we took them out to grease the head bearings so our totals are pretty accurate. Since posting I have ridden the bike and the front end is MUCH better with the 'correct' amounts of oil. Next time I will measure the height from the top rather than the quantities.

Hi All, we've changed 2 bikes' fork oil and found 250cc in right and 350cc in left , should be 370cc in right and 385cc in left. Has anyone else measured or have any ideas why the right should have 100cc less from the factory please?

Sorry cocked -up last reply. Is the rear shock still Olle and carb still Dellorto on the 250/290?

On the rear Olle shock there is a 2.5mm allen screw which I presume should be undone before turning the top nut to tighten the spring, however only a tiny part of the top nut is visible so how can one undo the allen screw with the airbox and silencer fitted so that adjustments of shock preload can be made and tried in practice sessions? Can the upper nut be tightened without loosening the allen srew?does the large lower nut have a function? Finally, what is the function of the lower left screw, which you advized to turn in 9 clicks, please?
