  1. Snow, hail, rain and wind at Kaikoura 3 day trial but all are loving it!? Steve A is losing cricket scores in Inters but is still in one piece......just!? If I'm still alive tomorrow I may post some results.
  2. Hi to all you electrical boffins, I'd like to know how to test the diode, regulator, coil and stator( both in the bike and isolated) in the Sherco trials bikes, and what measurements should I get if the components are normal or failed. Please give as much detail as possible. Also, could someone post a wiring diagram please. If any of you know exactly what each component does, please inform me.
  3. Hi, The TRP shock tranforms the Sherco. It aids steering as well as traction and stability. Thy can be reconditioned. There are 22 rebound adjustments. You can get the right spring for your weight. The GG Ohlin is, I think, too long. Good luck.
  4. Hi All. Apparently only 40 were made and they all sold in the first week! Did anyone here get one or did Ryan Young Products buy them all? Which dealer in the UK was supposedly selling them?
  5. Interesting. Have you located a parts book so we can compare what the differences are?
  6. Hi All, How do I find out what trials are on in Yorkshire and the SE Centre, suitable for a Clubman, during June and July as I'll be visiting both areas then? Thanks in anticipation!

    Trp Setup?

Hi, I've had a TRP on my Sherco for 18 months now and it's been great. The knob is easiest at the top. You can adjust it easily with the rear guard removed. The screw is for gas filling and should not be touched. I got this info from Jan Cardinaels(Jitsie)who designed the TRP shock. I feel that the best function is with the knob about 6 clicks OUT more than 10 is very good for hopping but the back wheel bounces around in rocky creeks etc. I'd be interested to hear if anyone has had to do any maintenace other than clean and spray with WD40. Good luck with your new shock, I know you'll like it.
  8. I need to get one of the muffler mounting lugs welded on my 2008 250. Should I disconnect the electrics from the frame to avoid damaging them please?
  9. Try repositioning the handlebars a little nearer towards the rider. I think this will help. Good luck.
  10. Hi All, In the regs it says riders from the EU, does anyone know if entries from NZ or Australia are allowed or who could I phone/email about this please? Merry Xmas.
  11. Yes I did mean a Sherco 4T. Thanks for the comments so far, but detail would be useful please.
  12. Hi All, I have the opportunity to buy a 2005 4T. What should I look out for before I buy please? I've read the various posts but could some of you give me a summary of what mods would improve the bike. I'm only a lowly Clubman rider so I don't need masses of power. However I would like it to be reliable for starting and not stalling as well as smooth power! I assume- Keihin pwk 28 but what jets/needle/slide etc. and hot start kit? Is the '05 frame, shock and forks OK? Thanks for your help.
  13. Hi All, Has anyone done a 250/290 to 125 c.c. conversion? What do you need...jetting, manifold, reeds, barrel, piston, top end bits, ?stator and flywheel for 08 etc. I expect the barrel is the most expensive part. I don't suppose anyone has a decent 125 barrel they want to sell? Thanks.

    Neo,?

Hi Neo, With the rebound screw at the left/ lower/back you will be able to get at it without taking anyting off. It's a little tricky but achievable. Hope this helps as I had your worries initially.
  15. Hi, Both the black springed '08 and the red springed '07 shocks have rebound adjustment screws on the left/back/lower end. The screw head on the '08 is smaller and more difficult to get at , but with a longish screwdriver it can be approached almost straight , and the adjustments made. I now use a TRP shock with the >85kgm spring , but that's another topic! Steve alias Howard!
  16. Hi, The rebound damping screw seems to be at the back rather than the left side(as in 2007). Has anyone worked out how to adjust it without stripping everything. How many clicks does it have? Thanks.
  17. Great. I'd love one. I should have been there!
  18. Hi Guys, Does anyone know if a Raga rep Ohlin rear shock will fit a 2007 Sherco and has anyone tried this or any other 'better' shock? Thanks.
  19. Hi Cope, You say set the static sag at 0-10mm for someone at 225lbs. I'm about that . Can you tell me why less static for heavy people. Should the racing sag still be 60-75mmm please?
  20. j@mes, which model and spring weight of Ohlin are you using please?
  21. Is the 08 rear shock on the 4 stroke different to that on the 08 2 stroke please? I thought that the latter's spring looked like the heavy spring for riders >85kg!!
  22. Hi All, Has anyone studied/measured the steering lock angles on the various modern bikes. It seems to me that the 2008 Beta turns tightest followed by the GG, Scorpa and Sherco. It probably doesn't matter too much to proficient hoppers but the rest of us......!? Do you think this is important?

    Trp Pro Rear Shock

Hi, Which way up is best for access to the adjusters on a Sherco and what do the knob and the small screw actually do? I'd love to hear from anyone with experience.
  24. Hi All, I've just got a TRP for my 2007 Sherco and it feels great. I have a few questions though. Which way up is best for access to the adjusters and what exactly does the small screw and the orange knob do. I assume they are rebound and compression damping? I'd really like to hear from anyone with experience with this shock.
  25. Hi All, Has anyone used a TRP on an 07 Sherco? Access to the screw and knob look difficult. Which way up is best to get at the adjustments? What exactly do the 2 adjustments do and where is it best to start before experimenting? Any advice gratefully received, thanks.
