  1. Well, it seems the official press release will not be out until after the Easter weekend now. I can tell you that the news involves a ground breaking partnership in the sport between the USA and Canada... sorry that is all I can say at this moment. It is however an extremely positive step towards the future of the sport in North America. Sorry Don, will work on the anti-gravity issue at a later date. ha ha

  2. Ray you have stumbled into a Canadian civil war. And if anybody can have a "civil" war it's Canadians. There is a bit of bickering over who owns the Canadian national championships but for you, who just wants to go play it really doesn't matter. Check all the websites, find events you can get to and go play. My trips into Canada here above New England for ATAQ events have been wonderful. Friendly people,  pretty girls, good sections, great organization. Did I mention the pretty girls, speaking french!

Dan, there is NO bickering over our National Championships. In the sporting world of Trials, there is only one Sanctioned Federation for each country that is recognized throughout the World of the sport. For that there is NO debate. It seems the only issue we have is mis-informed riders. The events from coast to coast will all be fun. I too have had nothing but great experiences riding with the ATAQ, and as well the time I have spent riding in New England.

  3. Thanks for input, I don't want to be blamed for starting a civil war in Canada that's for sure! I understand that there's a couple strongly opininiated people on either side of this dispute. In my opinion why doesn't the WTC just change the name to take the confusion out of this whole situation?

Hey Evolution, no worries so don't think twice. You were right to question the name, It is rather silly.I could go on and tell you the real story but it doesn't apply here. We have some great riding up here in Canada. You will enjoy any event you go to. There is no civil war, but unfortunately a small group of mis-informed people who use the internet and facebook to further confuse what is a great group of people. It will sort itself out pretty shortly. The truth is always the winner! Keep your feet up and have fun.

  4. Dabster:

yes sales will be the decider for sure, you kettle......apparently  me stove. I think Forrest Gump said it best, Geezer is, as Geezer does. FYI, the report wasn't from my son ( spelt Fracy) as he only got to ride the bike for an hour the week before. I attempted to write a fair review of the bike after riding it pretty much for the day. I don't think too many people have had a chance to see one yet, let alone spend a day on one. I had hoped it would be seen neutral, as I rode a GG last year (which I loved) and several Beta's before that. It was not intended to be  a my bike is better than yours dispute. We do agree on the fact that there are too many bikes in a small market.

  5. Lets not get carried away this is a brand new bike, the brakes should be good, but 5 into 6 doesnt go, for 95% of the time its fine but 6 is always better? so please gush all you want but dont stretch the truth too far.

Dabster, look at the bright side though.... you got to see a pic of me and, more importantly a nice shot of the TRS at the top of our clubs property overlooking the beautiful city of Victoria BC

  6. Unfortunately you wont find much truthful information on "TrialsCanada| about the WTC. And yes WTC does stand for World Trials Championships.NO they are NOT attached with anything. The World Trials Championship is run by the World Governing body for motorcycle sport, the FIM. Each country has an official federation that is part of the FIM family. In the USA that is the AMA. In Canada, it is the CMA. "World Trials Canada" has nothing to do with either. In fact it is not recognized by ANY Trials sporting association, other than itself.

  7. I have just been fortunate enough to spend an entire day riding the new TRS One. The only bike so far here in Canada. I have ridden all kinds of bikes and my last bike was a GG Racing 300. I hope I can bring an objective review of what I saw and felt riding it. First off, the build quality is exceptional. Lots of little things make me think that a RIDER had a lot to do with the design ( Thank you Jordi). The feel to ride the bike is that its very light. The riding position is absolutely perfect. I am 6ft tall and cant remember the last bike I had that I felt so perfect on..... The center of gravity seems very low and I found the bike very easy to balance and to move the rear wheel around. As far as the overall handling of the bike, it was so good and made me feel confident, and tracked so well and incredibly stable. I attribute this to the aluminum frame and rear suspension linkage design. I am a big fan of aluminum framed bikes and this tiny rigid frame I love. The clutch feel is very good and by far the best clutch I have ever had on any bike I have ridden. Beta, Sherco, GG.

I don't know what they have done with the  brakes as they look to be standard, but they are incredibly strong, and this was noticed by everyone who rode it. Everything just seems to be in the right position and very comfortable to ride. It grips incredibly well. The transmission is for me a lot better than the GG in the way it shifts. NO big crunch going into fourth gear, and it shifts with a definite and nice clicking motion. The ratios are absolutely perfect, and I was skeptical about the 5 speed as I am not a fan from riding Shercos. The TRS ratios are perfect, with 1st through 4th all evenly spaced and usable in sections, with 5th being your road gear/

Overall the feel of the bike was familiar but even better than I had expected. I loved it and cant wait to get mine

  8. Why on earth with so much developement, would Trs Run a Dellerato carb on their bike, seems strange to that production keeps getting pushed back

Not sure why you would say production keeps getting pushed back? They are in full production. Demand is very high and right now they are trying to get as many bikes to as many places as they can.

  9. As per the press release posted by the CMA, our National Sanctioning body, this years Canadian Trials Championships have been awarded to Saskatchewan and the FLTA and will be held Aug 20/21 in the small town of Bengough.

It is going to be a very unique event and one that should not be missed by riders in Canada who want to experience that " European" feel without leaving the country! The entire town of Bengough will act as host to this event with many activities and festivities planned, including beer gardens for spectators, and a dinner planned for riders and workers.

It's a significant event as it also celebrates the 67th running of this prestigious Championship in Canada. The event itself will be held in a very  special location known as the " Big Muddy Valley" that is actually noted as one of Canada's wonders that is a must see! The badlands of Saskatchewan with giant hoodoos rising up from the ground. The event headquarters will be centered right in the middle of the town where riders will gather in the " Park Ferme" similar to the SSDT, before they head out through the streets of town to make their way to the loop trail!

It will be for sure a very special event, and being generally centrally located in the country, it will offer a great opportunity for riders from both sides to join and enjoy two days of great competition and soak in the atmosphere and hospitality of rural Saskatchewan.

Further info with pictures and video will be available as the event draws closer!

  10. I like differcity. Locations in Spain and andorra etc are really amazing too if you ask me, but there should be some off everything.

If you look at Europe the Soutern part (portugal Spain italy, but also kroatia etc) is mainly rocky like surface. But Poland, germany, romenia (just to name some) etc have far more in common with riding in the Netherlands or the UK.

In the Netherlands we had some reel sand non stops for the EC, which made it quite difficult for some riders who did not do that often.

edited but not spell checked...........lol :D

  11. Great news to get the marque in the headlines , but the plan was ,as i was told by boss to send 3 prototypes out to the corners of the earth (Inc UK) , test them , obtain feedback , modify over a few months and then start production.

Given that the proto deliveries have not happened and that production is infinitely harder than making a few bikes to test and that the UK importers above delivery date has past I suspect we are in for a long wait before we see any bikes to buy.

    Either

A - they will continue as planned above

    Or

B - they will skip sending the 3 bikes out for local evaluation

My guess , is B. The financier will want income , despite any reassurances we might hear .... This will be the case. The importers will also be wanting the sales.

Production is the hardest part , because suppliers have other customers and small orders won't go to the top of the pile. Then ... as soon as they arrive they'll need more and the wait starts again. The gathering of perfect quality controlled components is very hard. 50% of some products are returned. Just that one item is stopping production and imagine problems with many many parts. It's a nightmare. The Jotagas boss (ex GG boss) rolls his eyes with dismay and regards production as very hard and he's been doing it since 1980.

If you have enough staff (cash) then you can employ staff to order and chase ... but if the factory manager is also responsible for stock ordering and chasing ... it all grinds to a halt and you become abundantly aware of the size of the task.

Trs will be dalm good bikes and they will get bikes here to sell, but this is why there are delays .

    So you are just speculating?
