  1. I for one believe that once all the debt of the current company is dissolved and GG in its current form no longer exists, a new GG will emerge and continue to be successful. Why? Well I just went for a ride on my new 300 Racing tonight after work. I have ridden and/or been sponsored on every brand of bike since the 80s and I am amazed at how much fun this bike is and how good it works. They all have their strong points for sure, but the GG motor and the suspension are top notch.

  2. :rotfl:

    The corrected version:-

The factory is being "emptied" what auction or administrators or what?

4 stroke gassers do you mean trials? If so a journalist I know tried what they had back 5 years ago and there is not many of them, how you in lancashire could know more is interesting?

The debts were about 40 million euros.(see relase elsewhere with FACTS)

Gas gas have few if any patents afaik, who would buy a brand name in these circumstances -what would be the point?

The KTM rumour was over a year old and KTM released a statement saying they weren't interested (see release elsewhere)

Israeli investors are not rescuing GG.

KTM can do lots of things but why would that company want to build a Trials bike given their target market.

The trials market is not healthy? No Sh!t sherlock.

TRS competitive are you sure? Launching soon both, really?

More than normal financial investment wtf does that mean?

  3. I never said Beta and Sherco as light as can get.

Frailty of GG - just read the GG forums for evidence

I did not say an MX engine is used in road racing. Some of the 2T 125 GP engines were very very close to MX engines but when the FIM changed the 125s to 4T Moto 3 they deliberately drafted the regulations to prevent the use of MX engines (rules condemned by quite a few) however the 4T technology developed in 250 4T MX engines was very easily applied to the Moto 3 engines.

Enforcing weight limits - use a set of scales, my motorcycle MOT tester has done this for years, no problems

When the 2T trials engines were very similar to their MX, Enduro and trail counterparts in the 1970s many manufacturers took advantage of this to produce bikes for all 3 disciplines, including Ossa, Monntesa, Bultaco, Yamaha, Kawasaki and Suzuki. This is no longer the case as trials engines have become too specialised and the volume of sales does not justify development costs. If the trials bike rules were drafted appropriately so that a variation of an enduro or MX engine could be competitive more manufacturers might be tempted to enter trials.

    Clown! :wall:

  4. Its amazing really given the light weight of the bike, fuel injection, electric water pump, non points ignition etc that the vertigo even got out of the car park.

    Great result.

Anyone heard from dadof2 or copemech ?

Brilliant! I would expect a Telex or fax from either of them shortly!

  5. Do you think Doug might be extra motivated having lost 8 on time.

Apparently his first ever SSDT time penalties.

judging by his comments after, and then two clean days, I'd guess he was p****d right off!  but sometimes that can motivate you to prove a point and he is!!  This will be a huge feather in the cap for Vertigo, and all the videos I have seen the bike looks and sounds fantastic

  6. Dan:

Very sad to hear this news! I was fortunate enough in my time riding Nationals and spending an entire summer riding all the NETA events to be able to spend a lot of time knowing Bill. Truly one of a kind! My thoughts go out to his family. RIP Bill

  7. WoW! I guess that means he is off Beta for the endure stuff as well.?

I hope he can get that lump to move! He is a power rider, though.

Wonder who is supplying the bike?

Copey, what century are you living in mate??? You need to get out a bit more! :hyper:

  8. For anyone interested in what goes on in our part of the world here... the new site had results of our first trial of the year posted the same afternoon after the event, and a nice little video montage too! Impressed so far for sure! Have a look it was taken at our clubs private property which it has owned for some 40 plus years.

  9. There is now a new Canadian Trials website online. www.mototrials.ca looks to be a fresh, modern site that will serve our community well and was the creation of Brian Hotovy and longtime trials legend from these parts, Ryon Bell. It is also on twitter which you can pickup when you go to the page!

It will be great to get up to date info from clubs and be able to see video and pics there too.

  10. Gasgas have had difficulties in the past and pulled through. It is still highly likely something will be sorted out in the very near future.

Dadof - the reason why this thread is not given information by people in the know is because people like you cannot discuss it reasonably. Your comments so far on Tc make it clear that you cannot draw reasonable conclusions . You twist and contort what you've said to fit the argument of the moment because your so desperate to appear on a higher ground than everyone else with a professional knowledge on so many things . It's a pity.

Many people have visited the Gasgas factory over the years and many know what they make and what they don't make there in some detail. They also know where and when the debt was run up.

Would they tell you and want to discuss it with you on here ? - Hell no

Gasgas will sort this out . Good luck to them.
