  1. had the same problem with ralphs 4rt. its air trapped in the top of the master cylinder. try pushing master cylinder piston up and down a few times using a screwdriver and hold the pressure then undo banjo bolt that holds rear brake hose to master cylinder. repeat this a few times then bleed through to rear caliper as normal. hope this helps

  2. sorry didnt check needle position just cleaned jets etc out while ralph was at the burger wagon. try 4 turns out think you will find it ok the plug colour was good to. used same carb on 315 mont also set 4 turns out

  3. yea i did notice that the bike really struggled to pull his athletic frame around so first plan was to get as much fuel into the engine as possible but we are now working on the 2nd plan due to the success of his ginster sponsorship we now have a 490 maico engine fitted. now if i can just get him away from the dinner table we can test and report !!!!!!!

  4. hi cleaned ralphs carb for him again a couple of weeks ago and the fuel screw is set at 4 turns out hope this helps. found that any less than 4 to 4 an a half turns out makes it detonate when hot and runs to weak

  5. i am about to purchase a T5 and keen on the 130 model has anyone tried the 104 bhp 1900cc model if they have what is the performance like and mpg is it much better on fuel than the 5 cylinder version ? have owned a T4 van r reg 2400cc model for 5 years good solid van and no problems with it just a bit thirsty 28 - 30 mpg. thanks for any info on T5

  6. the addict is now montesa mounted. doug was pushed aside when the addict took the 4rt ride that is the real reason for his return to beta !! and just to let all you sherco fans know he has taken to it really well. the only problems so far are due to the lack of maintenance req he is bored and has to spend countless hours with her indoors ! and the worrying thing for us his riding friends is the perminent stupid smile on his face !!!!!! NICE

    anyone know how much a new piston is for a 290 , thinking of keeping mine for next year but I think it could do with a re build.

  8. nice pics !!! me and ralph look undernourished ! we are like fat twins. the addict wasnt in new skin tight jeans he was naked not sure why its something to do with saving the planet he just brought the kids some felt tip pens and told them to colour in his legs and bits. hope you enjoyed it spud ? we stayed for another couple of hours the addict was the last one there and when i left he was busy hugging a tree. NICE !!

  9. its not the pad type you are useing its probably more to do with the 8 hour practice every thursday + numerous eves on the sleepers + all those sneaky practice sestions in the week with caber and the goat + the trial and a practice every sunday !!!!!!!!!!!

  10. wtc rider and repsol team member billy bou will be entering at ESTC trial this sunday but new beta signing for 08 billy bunter is a no show ! he is staying at home sleeping and eating cakes. apparently he is well impressed with the bike but wants more practice before entering a trial as he is still having some problems riding and eating at the same time !!! with billy bou there its bad news for the local top riders leg end and the pro who were looking for an easy win!!! sorry lads prepare yourselfs for a thrashing !!!!! ;)

  11. had the same problem on my 4rt checked bars and clamps etc adjusted steering head bearings i was convinsed the noise was from the ffont end of the bike and could only hear noise when riding the bike finally traced fault to the restrictor in the rear silencer coming loose and sliding up and down. remove silencer 3 bolts easy job and check restrictor if loose in pipe a small amount of silocene will do the trick. hope this helps

    Anyway the turn how to do it because i realy am as bad at it as saying NO to Choclate Flapjacks. (dunking them in hot Choclate all so brings on a come face) NICE.

    By the way Mr Cowley got a NICE call Sunday and Mr Hick for about a 1 mile wheely Very Nice. All most made him fall off when i shouted it at him, he had the opposite to a come face on.

    hi jza as ralph said with wieghting the footrests etc is prob best technique to try. dont know how you remembered that tho ralph as i dont think i have ever seen you manage a complete turn with both wheels on the ground !!!! heard the legend was out saturday in hebo riding gear ? his mates said it didnt suit him as it made him look really fat and the jeans that cost him

  17. clarky have you been on the meths again?? or did you gate crash a party with free beer ? i would love to come to the trial i will miss out riding those rocky streams and 4 or 5 mile loop round across the moors etc!!! never mind perhaps next time. NOT. and you know i dont stand any chance of beating you at a trial in fact if theres money on it doug lampkin mbe 7 times world champ could not beat you !!!!!!! do you still have that lump on your head where the 10 pence hit it :D ??? are you coming up the dishes tomorrow after the trial ?

  18. If the rims go pink Mark, I am sure we can do a deal for your black ones :thumbup: the Renthal red rear sprockets go pink after a while so hope the same doesnt go for the Sherco rims as Ralph and the lads will have a field day :thumbup:

    I have got the bars in the right position at last although they are well forward, bike kept wanting to lift on any sort of climb especially grunting out from nothing feels very comfortable now. I am going back to the standard spring rate as tightening it up a couple of turns has made in to stiff, maybe the bike was set too hard to start with from the factory. It also grips like hell on any climb and is catching me out alittle, you think its going to spin so allow for it but it still drives up, better that way than the other and I should soon get used to it.

  19. high mate. a common problem with earlier gas gas was the fibre peeling of the clutch plates and getting stuck between the plates. clutch will work of sorts but keeps dragging. remove cover and plates and check easy enough job to do. warm bike up and drain gearbox/clutch oil and refill with thin oil. we allways used atf oil in our gassers. hope this helps
