Thanks for all the reply's it looks a very tidy frame and i shall be building it up over the next few months , but if i do decide to sell it i will let you both know .Time to start collecting bits me thinks !!
Please fight your political battles on any other week or format ..you will not "win" you will queer the pitch for everybody
but i somehow dont think he's bothered about anybody but himself and his own agenda. Sadly there will always be people like that in this world and one day it WILL be one of them that finishes the Scottish off for ever.
I agree with twinshock.. am currently riding daily in France there are a couple of youngsters who can do all the tricks but they just don't understand line riding....how can you be smooth if you don't know (or have a plan) regards where your'e going?. It seems to be a forgotten part of trials which is essential for no stop success...and a skill which is in itself interesting. The other thing I notice regards the average stop and re alighn brigade is that they have stiff legs ..not important when you have time to re alighn but fluid body is more important in line riding. Best suggestion is to practice different tecniques on same section.
smack on THATS the biggest problem with the stop allowed bregade and also why they are so against no stop because they never had to learn to use their eyes and brain to figure it out. Be smoooooooooooooooth you know it makes sense.
Ream the hole out to a larger size then turn a couple of top hat shaped spacers out of stainless id to fit the spindle and od to fit the reamed out hole. Job done no welding required and just a basic turning job.
You are missing the point on the stop/no stop debate on this one . The colmore trial is fortunate in that it has the terrain available to be able to mark out no stop sections.(Although thats not what this thread was initially about)
From my experience it is always much easier to find terrain to lay out no stop sections than it is to find stop allowed sections so dont follow you on that one at all.
It IS relevant to discuss no stop or stop allowed on this thread BECAUSE the Colmore Cup was run to and has been no stop for a while yet so many people are making out that no stop will be the death of trials. So how come the entry list was full then? or is it that the dummy spitters wouldnt/couldnt ride proper trials like the Colmore Cup.
BTW and this is not meant as a derrogatory comment aimed at Becky Cook but the video proves EXACTLY why trials should be run no stop. That wasnt a sucessful attempt at a section in the spirit of Trials surely? It deserved a 5 for a failed attempt.
Either way it's a well deserved sucess for the hard working SoA club. Well done guys
Almost certainly a Sammy Miller seat / tank unit. See mine here. You can also see the original position of the shocks. Good luck with it.
Just be a bit careful when buying any glass fibre tanks that they are ok for use with modern fuels as there are a LOT of people who have had problems with them "melting". Just trying to make you aware.
Very very reminiscent of the one that John Orme used to ride here in the East Midlands way back when. The only other one i knew of belonged to an old school mate of mine and sometime Speedway rider Alan Molyneux from Long Eaton. Dont know what happened to either bike though. John Orme had some great results on his
You know you don't mean that! You know that all the above "Bantams" should be in a "BRITSHOCK" class or better still The "TRICK-SHOCK" class. And you will find most of these bikes are having just has much money thrown at them, and probably costing has much as putting say a decent "ARIEL" together. It is amazing how many new ventures have started up building parts for the humble BSA BANTAM. "Trials" bike, So how much is a five speed trials cluster? Even the cases are starting to look like somthing from Japan.
Has enyone come up with a "AirCooled" radiator for them yet??
Regards Charlie.
Have heard of 5 speed clusters but nothing on prices yet Charlie. One thing for sure the Bantam, especially the last one in the pics, would be more competitive than the decent "ARIEL" however personally i would prefer the Ariel.
My own take on this is that no matter which class they enter the more that are being built wether a "Bantam" or an "Ariel" or anything inbetween then thats a bonus for Classic Trials.
False actually, its only recently gone no stop last 3 years or so
or did you mean its been no stop whilst sponsored by S3 ?
OK so it's only been no stop for the last 3 years. What i was getting at was to read so many earlier posts on TC expounding how support for trials would collapse with hoards of people packing it in because of the return to no stop the facts dont seem to support that point of view especially as the Colmore Cup run to no stop rules, as you point out it has been for the last 3 years, was a sell out with a FULL entry.
Do you think he's bothered seeing as he rides it most weekends anyway? Why build a bike just for one event a year that you might not get an entry into, unless youire a previous winner, that would be daft wouldnt it?
OK So explain Horsforth's Weekend Novice and Beginners.......
err is it a Trial for Novices and Beginners by any chance ? if so Novices and Beginners, neither of which have much experience or skill at riding trials bikes, will be taking part in a Trial that is set to a level that caters for their lack of skill and experience. Hope that helps
Determined to kill off an already dying breed at a time biking should be encouraged if the oil is running out. Sooner we are out of Europe the better, costs us millions a day for what?????
Does make me wonder at times too. Strange really as i "feel" European and love the countries and cultures but dont agree with people who i didnt elect, i know you can say that about this country too (cue SNP), dictating what happens in the country i live in. Have you also seen the new M.O.T. rules that come into place this year? They kept that quiet too.
At least it wont affect off road trials. Then again looking at insurance costs i am surprised that any 17 year olds can afford insurance on a bike anyway? assuming they have insurance that is?
Poor taste err I Quote "the FU was not against your sorry old ass"
Kettle pot black ?
Lets just agree to dissagree. You support your friends and their points of view and conduct and i'll support mine OK? Lifes too short. I hope you had a good "I bust nuts and bolts on iron on a daily basis(and leak a fair amoun o blood in the process), day.
It must be said, though, that a lot of trials running under no stop rules do seem to be attracting a lot of riders, the South Eastern Centre round this weekend that I've entered has 93 riders and local club trials seem to be well supported. There isn't even any dummy spitting by the younger riders as predicted by some, as everyone is giving it a go and has not quit yet.
thought it was just temper tantrums when told NO ! LOL
hi all im thinking of puting lights on my bultaco 199A are they easy to wire up?
Hi Yep dead easy on a Bultaco. On the front downtube the lighting wire is connected to the choc block. Just connect the wire to the light switch to that et voila lights.
