hi has anyone changed their steering bearings on a beta 80, we have a 2008, if so would it be possible to get my bearings from a bearings company or do they have to be from beta agents,
do you use white waterproof grease or normal grease,
is it difficult to do
any advice appreciated,
thanks

i have a T reg but they go up to 2001 i think in the old shape, similar to a corsa but with the van bit at the back as apposed to a car, i put one bike in facing outwards then the other oppsite, but both at a slight angle, engine size 1.7, look on ebay you'll see some, not bad price and seem pretty reliable,
hope this helps

Hi has anyone ever changed one of these seals, i have a leak where the drive cog is at the front, how would you suggest i did this, to remove and replace with new one
any help appreciated
thanks in advance

thanks for your replies, i will try the water pump seals, i haven't noticed water disappearing, it's just when i empty the oil it looks slightly milky in colour, through parts of it, and when you look at the window level, with new oil in, rode it once and the window looks white again
-
Hi i have a problem with my sons beta it keeps getting white in the oil, which i think is most likely water, i was told it was the window seal, (indicator to show how much oil is in it)
i've replaced the seal (rubber ring thingy) where you put the oil in,
was told that the seals were checked and ok for the water pump, but haven't checked myself
is there anywhere else it could be coming from
any advice on how to fit the water pump seals if you think it is that
any advice appreciated
thanks in advance

hi we are also members of estc, riding tomorrow, and the club is excellent for the youngsters to get started
he is possibly a b rider but you can ride out of class, my lad is 11 a c rider rides a beta 80, if you look on the acu website you will find the 'rules' on there, or get a acu rule book, although here is great for info

i have been using putoline mx7, but local motorbike accessories shop only stocks silkolene, and he thinks it's just as good and has better range
would silkolen comp 2premix synthetic esther be good enough to replace the putoline once i've ran it down, or would you stick with the putoline
thanks in advance

Hi I have a Beta 80 2007
i don't know what oil that has originally been put in the gear box, but i'm thinking of putting Silkolene gearbox oil light (says for competition and off road bikes)....do you think this would be alright ? also how much do you put in? still waiting for my manual
also at the moment using Putoline 100% synthetic for off road and 2 stroke
thinking of using Silkolene comp 2 plus SX fully synthetic ester ultra low smoke for competition and off road bikes
been using Silkolene in the past for road racing sidecars and get a good discount whick is why i'd like to use them on this as well
any help appreciated
thanks in advance

Hi hoping someone can help me
my lads ty80 having problems, i put crankcase oilseals in, then did a trial, then because it was back firing , smoking, didn't even want to start(this was after trialing for a few hours, started running lovely at first then started playing up) i replaced them again, thought maybe made a mistake
was doing a mentoring day yesterday and now it's back firing , smoking and don't want to start, somone mentioned there is a screw to drain the crankcases of gases but i can't find it
but when first changed the seals runs lovely , just after a few hours (think only 2 hours yesterday starts playing up)
any help and advice appreciated
thanks
