DanGleebitz - no idea who you are, Aberdeenshire is a large area but if you go to Inverness trials as well as Bon Accord this probably means towards Huntly or Insch? - Hot or Cold??? pappa-lazerus - no idea again. As for Boofont i know who you are as well as Bigfoot - goodness knows where the names came from though! Alvie - I would love to go but I plan to go to the road racing at Knockhill. The river will as Pappa L says be very high and as for heather burning - will it light it is that wet at the moment TTFN Gordon

John You mayhave hit the nail on the head there? Don't know why Mark had trouble working it out! perhaps you have the help of the entry list and scores at a certain section! Don't know why we all need to use these rediculous names anyway! Gordon

Bill Glad to see you did not take a picture of me at Johnie Millers section showing how it should not be done! Having John egging you on at a climb you have never managed before is bad enough but having a professional photographer waiting to catch your failure for posterity just adds to your nerves! Still I goy up 2 times out of 3 - the 3rd i put down to rain - a good excuse and atleast you missed my failure that time! Gordon

Gary Excellent performance by yourself. I was surprised how quickly you rode the trial - normally the Experts on the A route are the last to finish! Perhaps your experience and knowledge of torrential rain gleaned from years in the wild west gave you extra impetus to finish sharp, given that rain was impending all day! Perhaps next time we give you a P65 bike or twinshock to even things up!

    Tlr 200 Forks

Mistake on my part Correct info below - I should have checked what each set of forks are rather than rely on memory! I have a TLR 250 with RTL forks - hence the confusion ATF is 10 weight oil according to Honda - I have also been told its 7.5wt - but it depends on who you speak to and what bike you have! For TLR's The oil capacity of 295cc +/- 2.5cc in each leg is for rebuild only - when you change the oil you should set the oil level since inevitably there will be some oil left. Honda manual quotes the oil level fully compressed with spring removed as 118mm from top of fork leg The RTL forks and TLR forks are not the same. The RTL forks are lighter & slightly shorter The TLR forks have a waisted profile while the RTL forks have a straight profile. The TLR forks are single spring while the RTL forks have 2 springs. Interestingly Honda quote SS7 oil for RTL forks - this is 5wt oil, originally they quoted SS8 oil - this is 7.5wt. Gordon

  10. I supposethat the Honda motor is dry sump and the oil is in the frame to save weight and more importantly height.
  11. "The cylinder looks nice a small and low on the visible side but I can't quite see where the plug lead ends so don't know where the actual top of the cylinder finishes. There is certainly more on the left side that we can't see. It fills the frame where as this side has a lot of height above the cylinder" TAKE A STEP BACK AND THINK HOW AN OVERHEAD CAMSHAFT 4 STROKE WORKS. THE CYLINDER CAN BE SMALL AND LOW - IT DEPENDS ON THE STROKE OF THE ENGINE. I SUSPECT YOU ARE CONFUSING CYLINDER HEIGHT AND OVERALL TOPEND HEIGHT (CYLINDER AND THE CYLINDER HEAD/COMBINED. THE CYLINDER HEAD IS THE BIT WHICH IS TALLER THAN THE 2 STROKE AND DUE TO THE WAY THE ENGINE WORKS CANNOT BE SMALL AND LOW! THE ONLY REASON THE CYLINDER IS LOW ON ONE SIDE AND NOT THE OTHER IS SO THAT YOU CAN GET THE PLUG IN/OUT!
