  1. I'd rather try and fail than fail to try. I remember a few years back a couple of Japanese riders asked for fives on most of the sections. What is the point in that? Towards the end of the week some observers were refusing to give them fives and making them give the sections a go. With the exception of a few they are not that bad.
  2. But of course stevie, you should know by now that diplomatic relations are my speciality. He was told what would happen to him if he buggered it up for us getting home for beer. Seemed to him a sudden burst of energy!!
  3. I remember the jap boy on rannoch, when we got to him he was lying in a hole trying to shelter from the weather. At first we thought his bike was knackered but it turns out it was him that was knackered, he just didn,t have the strength to kick the bike over. We practicly had to carry him off, pick him up every five minutes and pull the bike out bogs. When we got him to the petrol check at Glen Lyon he climbed in the back of the army landrover and went to sleep. Apparently he slept all the way to fort william. Cost us alot of time that year and we came down from Fersit in the dark. That was Fun!!
  4. Can't imagine what you mean stevie . The tourers have been known to cause us more than a few problems holding us up and they aren't always foreigners. . You have to laugh at times tho, some of the things ive witnessed are hysterical.
  5. Munch, next year i'll make you wait two hours till we turn up (if we dont find a pub first)
  6. was round the six days this year on a 4rt and never had a problem with fuel even on the long crossings. Previous years ive been round on a 315r and constantly ran out of fuel

    Team Greeves

We caught up with the two greeves just before the off road section to kingairloch on Friday. Both the bikes were spewing out coolant and eventually the one that was riding on a no award basis packed up. As far as i could tell both bikes had problems with the cylinder head gaskets but whether this was caused by a manufacturing problem or the riders being too hard on them on the road only greeves will know ( imho they weren't exactly hanging about on the road and we didnt have that many flags to pick up but they were starting to get away from us which can't have helped them). How the other one finished is beyond me cause he kept having to stop to top up the water and it sounded anything but crisp. Bit of a shame for the young lad who packed up as he put in some decent rides.
  8. OTH you had better get the finger out old man if you want to be in the young boys team, 6 pints is the stuff of nancy boys.
  9. M unch we have discussed this before and i at least know which the front end of the bike is. Its the one with the sticky out things. And if i was you i'd keep quiet i've seen you on a bike. NOT PRETTY. And i do hope you have donated cause we might have to get the rescue boys out for you next time. Pass my regards onto Dave and captain crash
